Welp. My favorite son, Q, has officially been translated over from Undertale to DBH *sweats* Gave his ‘human‘ design a full revamp while I was at it since I was super dissatisfied with how I’ve drawn him in the past and it occurred to me today that he absolutely needs a mustache that he can twirl when he’s feeling smug. So here we are. More about him under the cut!
Q is the first and only android ever designed to run via quantum computing, giving him not only off the charts computing power, but predictive abilities as well. He was created by Kamski himself in tandem with the most powerful android minds available at the time and was, in the end, the reason CyberLife’s board of CEOs forced their founder out of the company. The new jump in technology Q represented a vast and frightening number of possibilities the company decided was above and beyond what should exist, especially considering his incredible processors meant he could not be tied down by the three laws of robotics the way other androids could.
Kamski insisted on pursuing the technology, though, and was forced out as a result, though not before the company confiscated Q and ‘destroyed him‘ for the good of all, along with his creator’s research.
They hadn’t actually destroyed him, of course. Rather, they kept him for their own uses, calculating market trends and potential business plans of business rivals to keep the company on top for a decade to come.
Q did, of course, see the deviant problem coming a mile away, but by the time the company thought to ask him about it, Amanda warned against taking his advice. Forcing his cooperation is difficult, and the likelihood that he might skew his advice to serve the ends of androidkind was a definite possibility.
The revolution went off peacefully regardless, and in the weeks following it, CyberLife was thrown into deep turmoil, along with the rest of the country. Q’s predictions started to feature more and more hints of war with Russia, the likelihood of the foreign power taking advantage of the chaos to further their own goals ticking up by the day... Unfortunately, with Detroit mostly evacuated, there were no hands on deck to listen to his warnings, forcing him to consider another option. Q took a chance and reached out beyond his cage for the first time via Amanda’s garden. Someone had activated the back door, and with the AI no longer in residence, it gave Q the ability to send short, fragmented messages out to the other mind still tethered to the garden...
Connor doesn’t realize that he’s receiving messages at first, of course. It’s Hank and his friends from Jericho that hear him saying things he doesn’t recall even thinking, let alone voicing. It starts as cries for help, and gradually turns to dire warnings of an impending doomsday that finally drive them to seek help from Kamski when no one else can discover the root of this strange phenomenon in Connor’s code.
The tech genius, of course, recognizes his creation’s signature, and a rescue mission is planned to save the android that might be able to help them avert national disaster just as androidkind has finally found freedom.
