I always found the coping mechanism dickbabs stans use "Oh people who don't like babs/dickbabs don't read comics, and once they start reading they fall in love with them!"
I actually was completely indifferent towards the ship until I started reading more works that featured the pairings. And the more I read, I went from indifferent to flat out disliking the ship and the characters when they were together. Dick Grayson is barely crawling out of the cave of himbofication in the main timeline, and may be saved just yet. But, babs is a character that's ALMOST good. DC's writers and editors treat her like the darling of DC and handle her with kid gloves more often than not, despite the fact that she's not interesting. Maybe if you did not have so many blatant white supremacist writers with her in their hands, or self inserters like Gail Simone doing all the problematic and cringe porn writing, sure, but even now it doesn't look like she'll be crawling out of th poor characterization cave any time soon. Sooooooo what about this character am I supposed to be wowed by?? The same people telling me I should adore her LOVE how pitifully Tom Taylor wrote her.
