One thing to evolve out of this season is my editing super-power of making myself look WAY faster than I am. Added in the labored breathing while on the struggle bus to counter it. . Okay, it’s @DCCXrace photo album time! I’m sure there’s more video to come out of this amazing weekend but for now, here’s some #videostills. Week-old CX races are a hard sell, especially when they’re not your own scene, but energy of #DCCX’s #cxvibes are well worth checking out. 1) Objects are close. @gratstagram stopped by mid-race to convey that #crossisrad. 2) @econkat likes shifting. Shifting is good. 3. Roadies are so weird. @joedombro managed to escape the eye of Saur… I mean @jvaughters. 4. Hey did you know there’s a @rapha pop-up in Georgetown? @benjamfred might know something about it. 5. Technically, @cycloxgreg is falling in this still. He semi-saves himself by placing the bike down at the same time as his right foot. From out of the corner of my eye it looked as though he remounted in the next step continuing the “fall” onto his saddle. Anatomy of a time lapse: 1) TL of an Elite field doesn’t work very well because it happens in no time at all, even on this section. 2) TL became an extended burst mode capturing all kinds of subtleties as they attempt to get through the section without any mistakes. 3) I couldn’t make the switch back to the inside line in my race. Nearly cleared it by riding the tape on the left but nah. 4) The dirt was so fine it felt like moon dust.
