FanFiction: DCCU Origins by Amandus (Part 5.5) Nightwing’s Revenge

NIGHTWING’S REVENGE Previously in part 5.4: Killer Croc storms towards Batman, leaving Batman no option but to defend. Batman activates the tasers in gauntlets and is ready to fight him. Croc gets a hold of Batman’s cape and throws him against the rocks. Killer Croc: “YOU’LL DIE BY MY HANDS, TONIGHT!!” Batman crawls up, fighting off the hyenas* have taken strength out of him. Killer Croc walks towards Batman and picks grabs him by the throat. He walks towards the ledge of what used to be the pool of the polar bears. 

Killer Croc: “I expected more of a fight, Batman.” Batman while choking up: “Son argh-ofabitch” Killer Croc: “You have some fight left in you. Good.. This way I don't mind BREAKING YOU!” Killer Croc let’s go of Batman and raises his arms, ready to smash Batman into the rocks. Killer Croc: “SAY GOODBYE, BATMAN!” [*The Hyena’s from part 5.4] Batman looks up and says: “Goodbye” Suddenly Killer Croc get’s jumped in his back and falls in the empty pool. Killer Croc: “WHAT!? WHERE ARE YOU?! I WILL CRUSH YOU!” Nightwing walks to the edge of the pool. Nightwing: “It’s not Batman you got to be worried about. It’s me.” Nightwing helps Batman up on his feet. Nightwing whispering: “Go after Jason, Bruce. I got this.” Batman nods and makes his way to the door where Joker took off with Robin. He drops his gauntlets along the way.

Nightwing walks towards the ledge of the pool and looks down on killer croc. 

Killer Croc: “Ha ha ha, look at this. Taking the place of the bats, are we? I HAVE TAKEN YOU DOWN BEFORE AND I WILL DO IT AGAIN. I WANTED THE BAT BUT TAKING YOU DOWN TWICE WILL DO JUST FINE!” Nightwing: “Bring it on, Croc.” Nightwing jumps down into the pool and lands on top of croc, he wraps his legs around Croc’s neck and takes him down. Killer Croc quickly jumps up and swings around him with punches. Nightwing dodges all off them. Killer Croc: “YOU LITTLE BRAT! YOU ARE NOTHING COMPARED TO ME! NOTHING! AND YOU’RE NOT LIKE HIM EITHER, LIKE THE BAT! YOU’RE A WANNABE!” Killer Croc climbs up to the fence of the exhibit and breaks off the bars. He throws them at Nightwing but even though Nightwing is wounded dodging these bars of steel thrown at him is not a problem. Nightwing: “THAT’S HOW YOU PLAN ON DEFEATING ME? ARE YOU EVEN TRYING THIS TIME!?” Killer Croc: “IS IT MORE YOU WANT!? -AAAAAAAARGH” Croc picks up a gigantic rock and holds its above his head. Nightwing in thoughts: “Well done, Dick. Smart move.” Killer Croc throws the rock at Nightwing and Nighwing jumps back, the Rock cracks and shatters the glass of the pool pushing Nightwing trough it. Killer Croc: “YOU HAVE BEEN DEFEATED! YOU ARE NO BATMAN! HA HA HA HA!!” Nightwing: “Thats right, I’M NIGHTWING!” Nightwing jumps over the rock and trough the gap in the glass holding two of the metal bars straight at Killer Croc. He goes into hand to hand combat with Killer Croc. Nightwing: “YOU MIGHT BE BIG BUT YOU’RE SLOW!” He hits the pressure point on the neck of Killer Croc and dives towards Batman’s gauntlets. Nightwing: “YOU MIGHT HAVE TOUGH SKIN BUT THIS IS GONNA HURT!” He makes a back flip and jumps trough the legs of Killer Croc and hits him as hard as he can in his testicles and activates the tasers in the gauntlets of Batman. Electrocuting Killer Croc and thereby taking him down. Nightwing, bruised and broken stands up and walks away from the unconscious Killer Croc. He takes a look at the trail of blood leading to the door in which Batman followed the Joker "Go get him Bruce, I believe in you" 

He opens the gauntlet left by batman and contacts the batcave “Penny-One, come in. This is Nightwing” Alfred Pennyworth: “NIGHTWING, WHERE ARE YOU? WHERE ARE BATMAN AND RO-” Nightwing: “Please Alfred.. calm down. Batman is after the Joker. I alerted the GCPD but I need you to get me out of here Alfred. I feel.. broken.. Sending my location now.” Alfred Pennyworth: “On my way, master Richard” Nightwing sits down and looks up, he closes his eyes and lets the rain wash the blood off his face. He is broken. Mentally and physically.

FanFiction: DCCU Origins by Amandus (Part 5.1)

THE TRANSFER Two high security patients from Arkham Asylum are being moved to Lex Corp Mental Hospitals located in Metropolis. Batman however realized that this move is another step in the plan of Lex Corp and Amanda Waller to realize what they call Task Force X. To make sure the transfer of the Joker and Killer Croc goes as planned Batman, Robin and Nightwing will follow the trailers in which the criminals are being transferred. 01:00 Arkham Asylum, Gotham City Robin: “Any sight on the trucks, Batman?”

Batman: “Patience, Robin. The decoy transfer happened three hours ago. It shouldn’t be long until the actual transfer will take place.” Robin: “Three hours of incredible boredom it has been. I never had such a calm night in Gotham.” Batman: “Let’s hope it stays calm throughout the night. There they are, get in position.” Robin gets in position to put a tracking device on the truck which he will be following. Batman and Nightwing will follow the truck which transports the Joker. Robin is assigned with escorting the truck holding Killer Croc, a slightly less dangerous criminal. The two trucks exit trough the gates of Arkham Asylum and split up as expected. Batman and Nightwing escort the Joker. Robin gets on his bike and follows the truck.

Robin (Thoughts): “It should be me beside Batman. I am just as skilled as that circus act. I have been Robin for over three years. Why doesn’t the man trust me yet..” It remains a calm night for Robin so far. That is until the truck enters the center of Gotham. Batman: “Robin, come in. There has been an accident on your route. The truck will drive trough the narrows. Do you need assistance?” Robin: “I grew up here Batman, I got this.”

Nightwing: “He’ll be fine Batman. Robin knows what he’s doing.”

The roads within the center of Gotham City have been blocked. The truck is forced to make a shortcut trough the worst neighborhood of Gotham, The Narrows. This is where Batman met Jason Todd for the first time. A young street punk who, at a young age was man enough to try to steal parts of the Batmobile.

Robin is still following the truck when he suddenly sees a burning vehicle coming their way. An ice-cream truck covered in flames is heading for them and drives straight into the truck with Killer Croc. Robin tries to dodge the truck that suddenly has been brought to a stop and crashes his bike into it. Batman: “ROBIN, WHY HAVE YOU STOPPED!? ROBIN, COME IN.” Batman stops the batmobile in front of the truck transporting the Joker and jumps out. Nightwing: “Batman, what are you doing!?” Batman throws an explosive batarang at the back of the trucks and the doors blow open. They see Killer Croc covered in chains and a scared prison guard holding a tranquilizer. Batman immediately runs back to the Batmobile. Batman: “PENNY ONE! THEY SWITCHED! GIVE ME ANY LIVE FEED COMING FROM ROBIN’S LOCATION NOW. STREET CAMERA’S CELLPHONE VIDEOS ANYTHING!” Alfred: “Sending you street security live footage now, batman.” Alfred sends a live camera feed from Robin’s location in The Narrows. It shows something horrifying. The truck has been opened, the Joker is standing by the unconscious body of Robin. He kicks over Robin to his back and looks straight into the security camera. He shows a smile and shoots the camera. Batman is left powerless watching the live feed go down. “No..”

Can you relate?

I had a chat with some pals today when I realized something which I started thinking about ever since. We can all relate to our favorite comic book characters. For example I can say that I really relate to Dick Grayson. Not because I'm an acrobat or an orphan. More his personal character is what I can relate to. He has the same strong urge to act in the name of justice as Batman (Bruce) but imo he gives it a more personal touch. His humanity on the job is a disadvantage sometimes but it also works as an advantage for him. Anyway that's why I relate to Dick Grayson. I started noticing that lots of people start feeling related to villains. Especially the killer couple The Joker and Harley Quinn are fan favorite. What I'd like to remind you of is that these fictional characters are two psychopaths. There is nothing wrong with a bit crazy and especially not in a relationship but I start meeting lots of people who shape there relationships after the killer couple's. It's totally fine to relate to a character but don't force yourself to be like a character you admire. It's not ok to be overly obsessed with your partner, not until a point where you alow him or her to lay your hands on you in an act of aggression or anger. These two fictional characters have a lot of abuse in their story and that's not ok. I hope you all know that. I have seen people who let fictional characters take over their own life as some sort of escape from reality. Find yourself within the people you admire but don't try to be something you're not. Be a fangirl or a fanboy. Love the characters and the stories. Love and buy the merchandise you like at stores such as Hot Topic but be yourself with it. Enjoy your day and enjoy your favorite characters! - Amandus
