How it feels sometimes.
You know what would be really awkward in a bodyswap soulmate AU with Danny?
A bodyswap soulmate AU with corpse AU.
Just imagine Danny trying to bury his own body, the shovel is his hands throwing mud and dirt over the hole with a clear view of his corpse; when suddenly he gets bodyswap with his soulmate.
That would be pretty hard to explain, especially to a vigilante who now is probably in panic that their soulmate just murdered a teenager. Should they help hide the body? That is their soulmate so it should be for a good reason their soulmate just killed someone, right? RIGHT?
Even more awkward if Danny swaps when the vigilante is in costume and now he is freaking out about the misunderstanding that is about to happen.
Thinking about the Good Omens S1 body swap…

Bodyswap au with ghost and reader but it takes place after a pretty important mission....
Ghost wakes up and is doused in an intense feeling of wrong. The kind of feeling that's gut deep, and has him slowly assessing the situation and forcing his panic down.
His...his shoulder hurts. Hurts like hell, much more than he remembers after visiting medical last night. Did they miss something? He'd rather not go back more than necessary. In fact, his whole body feels weird. Like he's been under anesthesia for too long, or the months after he was captured. His head is killing him. Did he get drunk? He doesn't remember drinking.
When he tentatively opens his eyes, real panic sets in.
This isn't his room. He knows that poster next to the bed, that waterbottle on the desk. This is your room and he's in it. How did he get here? He doesn't remember last night. Oh fuck. Did he sleep with you? Mentally swearing and trying desperately to stay calm, Ghost tries to sit up and is met with hot white pain in his shoulder.
Looking to the right two things become clear.
That is not Ghost's shoulder and that is a concerning amount of blood. Someone's shoulder is bleeding into your mattress. Through layers of sticky gauze, blood clots into little red jellyfish as they slide over skin and onto sheet.
Instinct takes over and Ghost stumbles into your bathroom, finds an open first-aid kit and dried blood puddles. He fumbles with the packaging, finding his hands to lack the injuries that his overcorrections counter. Leaving him awkwardly tearing gauze open to replace the old blood-soaked ones.
It's a struggle, but he's able to staunch the bleeding long enough to actually think and look around. Well, when he stands to look in the mirror he... n't really comprehend it. Instead of a scarred and muddled face, tall broad shoulders and short blonde hair, Ghost sees you. Your face.
How...what?
Actually what the fuck?
It is unmistakably you, and when Ghost looks back down at himself it's your sleep clothes and your body he sees. Your bedroom, your bathroom, your bullet wound.
Your bullet wound?
The pieces click together slowly, each slotting into place with great reluctance as Ghost realizes you went to bed with an untreated bullet wound last night, after the mission he oversaw. Shit. Okay. His mind fills with sudden urgency when he tries to move and has to catch himself on the bathroom sink. Legs shaky, pounding headache, nauseous and dizzy. Blood loss. Bad, judging by the large puddle on the bed.
He doesn't think before he's stumbling out of your room and struggling down the halls for the medbay. All he can think of is that you're in danger. You're in danger, and Ghost can help.
It's early in the morning, which means no one's in the halls to see Ghost round the corner and freeze. Well. Not ghost, but his body. Ghost freezes too, feeling a strange sense of dread watching his own body beeline towards him with a furrowed brow. His sleep mask is still on.
"What the fuck are you doing?! Get back to my room!" His body says, and belatedly ghost makes the connection it's probably you in there.
Then, he remembers why he even left. "Are you fuckin' insane, kid?! Why the hell do you have a bullet wound in your shoulder?!"
"Oh, we are so not doing this. Come here." You grab him, and when Ghost turns to jerk away he finds large palms like metal cuffs around his forearms. Strong and impossible to move.
You drag him back to your room, slam the door. You don't even glance at the blood everywhere. Shoving Ghost to sit on the bed then proceeding to pace in tight circles. Ghost knows from experience that your knees will lock soon.
"You are Ghost, right? Because that's my body you're in, and I'd really appreciate it if you didn't make me look like a fuckin' idiot in front of everyone."
"An idiot?" He repeats, mind catching a bit on his voice with your cadence. "Kid, you have a life-threatening injury–which you shouldn't have–I'm taking you to get that fixed."
"It's just a bullet hole. I cover those all the time." You scoff.
Ghost is dead quiet.
"Fuckin' what?"
