Grandpa DeLacey

Everyone loves Grandpa/PeePaw DeLacey. 

He comes to visit with little toys and treats for Adam, just because. 

He always gives Adam money in his birthday and Christmas cards.

Adam can do no wrong. Grandpa always defends him and scolds Victor if he thinks he is being too harsh towards his grandbaby. 

He attends Adam’s open mic poetry readings and community theater performances.

Adam always anxiously scans the audience, looking for him, and a big smile breaks across his face when he sees him. 

DeLacey is almost always in the front row if he can be, wearing a shirt that says “Adam’s Grandpa” or “World’s Proudest Grandpa.”

He is first to stand during the ovation despite needing a cane and he tells everyone around him “that’s my grandson!”

I had not a moment to lose; but seizing the hand of the old man, I cried,

‘Now is the time!—save and protect me! You and your family are the friends whom I seek. Do not you desert me in the hour of trial!’

‘Great God!’ exclaimed the old man, ‘who are you?’
