A few months after Sam and Castiel start dating, the angel is killed. Still reeling from the loss of his best friend, Dean can’t just sit and watch Sam’s heartbreak slowly pull him away, too.

Sam Winchester´s journal: Dean didn´t say a word since we had lost Cas. He leaves his room only to get another bottle of whisky. He didn’t even let me take care of those terrible burns he has on his chest. I don´t know what to do. I´m afraid that he might kill himself or starve to death. I wish Bobby was here, he would know how to handle him. But we are all alone now.
