Dead Leno AU but it's a flashback to when he was alive and cheating on his girlfriend. Also I need you to get on board with the Real Person Fact that Leno had a lisp as a kid and it comes out when he's drunk.
The last time, Leno threw up. That’s the hazard of making out drunk, Will supposes.
Goose ended up hosting the end-of-season party in his apartment ten minutes from campus. There were way too many girls there, most of whom nobody but Ram knew. Within twenty minutes, Gabe had attached himself to some brunette who definitely had a boyfriend. Voter had completely vanished, and Fowls was doing that weird thing where he stood in a corner and closed his eyes to “feel the music” or whatever.
Anyways. Will was having kind of a weird time that night. He already knew what he was going to do. Just, he hadn’t told anyone. It was eating away at him. Gabe had been talking about registration for next year, and. Y’know.
Will definitely drank a bit too much that night. He just wanted to stop thinking. And, y’know, if he happened to fess up, at least he’d get it out of the way. At least alcohol made the knots in his gut loosen a little bit. He could just lean against the kitchen counter and nurse a beer and watch Fowler do… whatever he was doing.
“Look sad, over here,” Ryan said, siddling up next to him. He had a cap on backwards and he was practically vibrating. Leno never exactly sat still, but when he was drunk he was unbearably jittery. Leno put his big hand on top of Will’s head and shook him a little. “Y’alright in there Thmitty?”
Will lazily batted his hand away. “I’m good. You’re good. Everything’s good.”
Leno grinned. “You look funny.”
“You look funny.”
“Nuh uh. I look great.”
“You look stupid. Stupid hat.”
“Ith your hat.”
Will squinted at him. “... when did you take that?”
“Dunno. Couple months ago.”
“Asshole.”
Leno shouldered him, hard. “Pretty thure you have one of my Program hoodies.”
“Yeah, well. Yours is biger, it’s comfortable.”
“Mhm.” He leaned in close, enough that Will could feel Leno’s breath on his ear. “Does it still smell like me?”
Could practically hear the smile in his voice. Sometimes Will hated Leno for how arrogant he could be. He thought everybody loved him.
Just this once, he was right.
Will downed the last of his beer. “You ready to call it?”
“Yeah.” God, he looked so fucking smug.
It was barely ten thirty. Will insisted on saying goodbye to Goose before they left. Told him some story about an early class the next morning. No idea if he bought it. Whatever. Will was just happy to be stumbling through Boston with Ryan, playing with borrowed time. He was going to wait until they got back to Ryan’s single, but. Well, he was wearing that dumb letterman jacket Will got him, and this was when his hair was a bit long and he had just a little bit of a scruff along his jaw. And Will’s always had a thing for brunettes anyways.
They’d barely made it onto campus before Will was grabbing him.
“C’mere,” Will muttered. Got a hand on the back of Leno’s neck. Leno practically fell into it, teeth and lips crashing into each other, but Will couldn’t care less. He just wanted Ryan on him. His big hands pulled at Will’s hair, snuck inside his coat, and God. It wasn’t even that good, Leno basically licking his chin. But fuck, it was so hot. Someone was giggling, and Will couldn’t breathe.
“Shit.” Ryan pulled back suddenly, and the cold seeped back into Will’s mouth. He reached for Ryan, but he was somewhere else- he was ducking his head, trying to crawl inside Will’s jacket. A laugh bubbles up from Will’s throat.
“What are you doing?”
“That girl’s in our class,” Leno hissed.
Will turned around, hands tight on the collar of Leno’s jacket. “What girl?”
“Don’t-!” Leno grabbed him, but Will’d spotted them. Three or four girls, he wasn't seeing straight, wandering along behind them. Will turned to get a better look. They were giggling, looked a little drunk themselves. Oh, yeah, they did know that girl. Mary, or Maddie, maybe? She was in their Econ class. Will had the vague feeling that he should care, but. Leno was there. Leno was warm and nice. Leno was trying to hide his face against Will’s chest.
“So what,” Will sighed. He tried in vain to pull Leno back up. “C’meeeere.”
“I’m pretty sure she knows Tess.”
“Who?”
Leno hit his arm. “Julie’s friend?”
“Oooookay.” Will watched as the girls went by. Marian or Maya or whatever her name was looked back with a smirk. “It’s probably someone else, relax.”
“I’m so beyond fucked.”
“Whatever, you’re a good boyfriend, she won’t care.” Will pulled him in for one more kiss, which Ryan half-heartedly dodged.
“Dude,” Leno groaned, hands dragging down his face. “This is, like. We can’t be doing this. This is strike two for me. Fuck, I’m gonna-”
“Lean, fuckin’ relax, you’re fine-”
Leno stumbled a few steps away, then turned and hurled all over the sidewalk.
