“Even if you could turn back and let this situation rest, would you?” Akane knew that at least she herself wouldn’t. There was no way she would allow daem to do what a certain cult had attempted years back into the past.
“This is a huge problem. I made it my problem, and if it’s yours too, then we’re in this together.”
“...I wouldn’t turn back. I’ve made too many bonds here, and with what I’ve learned, it’d be impossible for me to let things lie with a good conscience.”
She had very few allies in this sort of situation up until this point. She couldn't tell her closest friends nearly as much as she wanted to, she had to keep Yuuya out of the loop for fear of it trying to stop her, and even Mr. Nanaki was just another source of information. Hell, she didn't trust him as far as she could throw him!
Akane, though... Akane was in a very similar situation. Spierce didn’t know how Akane came to make this problem her own, but no one really knew how she herself did, either. Plus, she was very smart, from what Spierce had gleaned from her behavior. You had to be smart to maintain a relationship with Dr. Iwamine, and to top it off, Akane was a physicist!
Maybe, just maybe... Spierce had found someone she could openly talk to and trust when it came to these sorts of things.
“...I agree. I’ll help you any way I can, Akane.”
