I love the dean cave and dean getting to have a cool little personal movie theater for 2 type room with a nice tv but, I also simply think dean and cas should watch everything on a shitty box tv with a dvd + vhs player. for the aesthetics and the nostalgia. dean never got to experience bringing friends over to his house and having sleepovers in the family room / basement so now he sets up the dean cave to look like a what a room like this might’ve been like when he was growing up. Old tech !!! No flatscreens!!! He loves fuzzy film grain I know this in my heart

I think it's so ridiculous the thought of the second chair in the Dean cave being to Castiel.

The brothers share their space all the time. They're always as close as possible, they sit close in big spaces, they research together (reading something that needs concentration with someone next to you is a challenge), they even chair their email accounts and possibly the bed since during the seasons an extra pillow appeared in Sam's bed (cause jensen felt like it while directing).

And some people think Dean put that chair to castiel?

Yes Dean made castiel watch some classics, and he and Sam don't have the same taste in almost anything. But Dean is a big brother, of course he monopolize the TV and make Sam watch his movies and series with him.

And Sam clearly watched them so many times (since he know Dean's taste perfectly) that he secretly enjoy Dean's stupid movies too.

Plus Dean is so codependent he'd probably feel bad watching films all alone, always think "where is Sam?" and "what's he doing?" Missing him and eventually coercing him to stay in the room even if he's reading while Dean is watching the movie (what would end up in Sam inevitably watching it too after a while and them sharing popcorn)

Ps: my headcanon is that he didn’t tell Sam about it before scoobynatural because it wasn’t ready and since he made it by himself, he didn’t wanna show it before it was perfect

Dean wants to keep the real reason for the new couch a secret until the very end.
