If it’s true that the Toby we see in Soulstorm is the same as/took his name sake form the Tobey mentioned in that august 2011 Dear Alf, then his inclusion in the new quintology is so, so funny.

Like, literally out of all the characters that came from Dear Alf... like Soots, who had his neat backstory about how he was a kinder at Necrum who went on to become a famous dancer after being freed by Abe. Buddy, who is mentioned multiple times by Alf and got more actual personality traits out side of just being the token fat mud like the daily deception characterised him as previously, and Crig, who actually showed up multiple times, the one character Oddworld Inhabitants chose to make a big debut in the new quintology was that one random Mudokon who’s mentioned only once in the entirety of dear Alf and in that one mention is heavily implied to have died!

If Oddworld Inhabitants ever bring back Dear Alf, they should bring Toby on occasionally to answer questions alongside Alf like they did with the bits where Crig the Slig showed up. So we could get some interactions like:

Fan: Alf, is the Toby who helped you hijack the train in Soulstorm the same Tobey you mentioned took an “early retirement” from RuptureFarms?

Alf: Ah yes… my brother Toby. “Early retirement” came too soon for him. I still miss ya, pal…

Toby: AAAABE! Alf’s pretending I’m dead to try and mess with me again!

Alf: Sometimes, I can still hear his voice... 😔
