Plum: Oh Lila... you foolish, foolish girl.

Spring
Winter Violet Port was born in the spring. I named her Winter for you, and gave her the name of my favorite flower. She has my coloring, but I see you in her smile- in her laugh, her curiosity and her light.
You have a daughter, Asher.
Several Years Ago....

Summer
Mom told Calla Lily, and I know in my heart if you knew... you would be here now. Which is why I know that reading this is going to hurt you, because it also means I didn’t try to tell you sooner… but I’m not sorry.
It’s not that I didn’t think you could be her father- I have no doubt that you will be an amazing parent one day, but you were meant for so much more than Wolfberry Creek. I didn’t want to be the reason you stayed, the reason you left school, the reason you didn’t pursue your dreams…
You always said that I was the writer, you were the painter- and together we could create quite the story, and we did… we really did, Asher.
Summer
And I know you’ve lost time, time that I can’t give back to you- but hopefully now you’ve made your own way, accomplished some of your aspirations, become who you were meant to be so that you can come home- come back to me… because I have never stopped waiting for you.
I have really missed you, Asher- more than words.
Love, Lila
Winter
Neither of us knew that was our last summer, what would change with autumn, nestle though winter only to blossom in the spring.
In the beginning, all I felt was shame- that I should have known better, that I shouldn’t have done this to Mom, that I had ruined my future for university... and you, what would this mean for you?
Autumn
This isn’t easy to understand, and I know you’re going to be mad at me, more mad than you’ve probably ever been… but I hope you can read this, all of what I need to say to you and understand.
I had my reasons. They may not have been right, or perfect- but they were mine, and mine alone.
