Dearest The Vampire Diaries family,
I can’t believe that 8 years have passed within a blink of an eye but as it’s said that all good things must come to an end, I should prepare myself, as well, to say goodbye. But before I do that, I would love to thank L. J. Smith, the author and creator of this incredible novel of the same name and the beloved characters and then Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson for filming it though the novel and the series differ a bit in storyline. Thank you for giving the ‘best’ show on the first 'Immortals’ (SILAS - The Vampire Diaries and Amara Petrova.), the 'Original’ vampires(Finn Mikaelson, Elijah Mikaelson, Kol Mikaelson and Rebekah Mikaelson), the 'Original’ vampire-werewolf hybrid(Niklaus/Klaus Mikaelson), the doppelgangers of Amara(Tatia Petrova, Katerina Petrova/Katherine Pierce and Elena Gilbert) and Silas(Stefan Salvatore and Tom Avery) ordinary vampires, the witches, the travelers, the werewolves, the ordinary vampire-werewolf hybrids, the vampire hunters, the 'Augustine’ vampires, the ghosts, the siphons/witchpires(witch-vampire hybrids), the sirens(Sybil and Seline), the devil(Arcadius/Cade) and of course, the humans(namely Matt Donovan) and making my teenage years awesome. It’s not some ordinary plot on vampires going on a killing spree, feeding on humans, ripping heads and hearts out, witchy juju or werewolves turning every full moon but about fighting for each other like the #Mikaelson siblings, staying together like Stefan Salvatore and Damon Salvatore no matter what, loving like Elena Gilbert, being brave like Jeremy Gilbert, acting like Caroline Forbes, sacrificing like Bonnie Bennett, working hard like Matt Donovan, teaching like Alaric Saltzman, and surviving like Katherine Pierce. No other show can replace the love I have for this show and it’s spin-off The Originals and nothing’s gonna stop me from binge-watching them. Even if the show bids adieu to the TV on 10th March, though the cast and crew wrapped up on 4th February and bid farewell by moving out from the sets with their final shot on 9th February, I will forever be grateful to the actors Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Candice Accola, Michael Malarkey, Kat Graham, Michael Trevino, Zach Roerig, Matthew Davis for portraying the main characters and also to all the other actors for portraying the recurring and the guest characters respectively and making this show 'epic’ with their flawless acting. And #MysticFalls, the town where it all started, home ground of all the supernatural beings and of course, the humans and which stood witness to all the supernatural activities, will be missed dearly. Thus, to sum up with the words of Damon, “I will always choose you”.
