This split-faced OC was my roommate and my magnum opus back in 2019. It is a coming-of-age story of a guy named Archibald "Archie" Palmer and his father, Aaron, who was an architect. I fondly remember my roommate and I referred to the main character's father as "Uncle", as we had the stepson character refering him as such.
It was set in the early when this pre-teenage boy moved to a tristate city and rediscovered himself beyond the aristocratic life in Boston. However, it is a psychological horror as his parents' marriage were crumbling upon his teenhood. A workaholic father and a violent schizo mother are a recipe for a puberty disaster with our boy. We planned it to be a series from his boyhood, teenage and his brief college days and his adulthood; his father's arc serves as the series's epilogue. The split faces show their final looks: Archie in his early 20s and his aging father. Beyond the pastel and bright colors, it was a sad story to revisit... as my roommate and I's friendship dissolved back in the pandemic and the story's tragic end.
No wonder these two are in these expressions...
