she is listening, of course she is. annette is always listening, or at least always hearing. + of course she’s listening to wirt; he’s a very good friend of hers, + she wouldn’t ever not listen to him. she is also, however, hand-stitching a rather involved costume for the winter musical. she’d find a way out of it if anyone else could do it, but alas. she pauses at his statement though, something resonating like a church bell inside her chest. her gaze zips from the embroidering in her lap to the young boy across from her. “y-yes. yes, i-i -- i kn-now.” she pauses, looking back at her project. “i-if i, um-m. f-figure out-t h-h-how t-to f-fix i-it, i-i’ll ... let-t you kn-now, hm?”
a very strange time in my life. / accepting selectively.
@deathdrown: [ 📞 ] ‘ are you in trouble? ’
“... n-no.” not anymore. her shaking hands can barely hold the cell phone, + she’s furtively scanning her surroundings. she needed to begin her walk home. “n-no, i-i’m -- j-jus-st walk-king h-home, y-y’kn-now.”
phone-a-friend. / accepting.
@deathdrown: [ 📞 ] ‘ i’m scared. ’
she’d picked up the phone, + that was his greeting. she began rushing immediately. before she could fully gather her thoughts, she’d snatched her bag and had begun fumbling to rush downstairs + to her bike. “w-where a-are you -- r-r-right-t n-now? d-d-don-n’t m-move, d-don-n’t h-h-hang up-p -- i-i’m c-c-comin-ng.” he’ll have to stop her if it’s a different kind of scared, as she’s still recovering from her own situations. she’s jumped to terrible conclusions.
phone-a-friend. / accepting.
MAY THE SAINTS BE PRAISED for her to see a faint figure in the waves ! unmoving ; unconscious. sails are held as her crew tries to pull the body out of water — skin pale as ice, lips blue as forget - me - nots. body wrapped in any blankets that can be found, brought into her quarters and monitored. it’s her own curiosity that brings her to his side, watching the boy’s face — resemblance of a GHOST. how did he end in these waters in the first place ?
@deathdrown i’m love you
@deathdrown.
“n-no, n-no, i-it’s -- it isn-n’t b-bad at a-all!” small hands are holding a notebook that isn’t hers, bespectacled eyes scanning the boy’s poem again. “th-there’s-s a f-few ... o-okay, s-so ...” she points at one phrase. “h-how c-could you, um ... b-better s-say th-that?”
