Adore the little details and bits of foreshadowing hinting at Sam being set to be a future president sprinkled throughout the show. Like it's so subtle but also so clear. It's so important to me for whatever reason.
4.05 Debate Camp
Episode:
• oh Andy’s in this ep...seeing her just reminded me that this is a flashback episode cause I remember the scenes where her and Toby are trying to have a baby
• “How ya doing there Joey? Kippy?”
“Kenny.”
“Okay.”
• Sam impersonating Bartlet was funny but I always felt like one of the other staff members could’ve done better
• oh nooo this is when Donna gets tricked by her predecessor and thinks there’s radiation under the White House or something
• “Maybe you’ll do it for someone else in four years.”
“Eight years.”
I just noticed this line and I love it because Donna won’t be in that position in 8 years! She’ll no longer be an assistant, she’ll be a campaign staff member and then the CoS to the First Lady!!!
• but ugh I feel so bad for Donna like she’s so happy to be shown around and given advice and she’s gullible and innocent that she completely believes what he tells her
• “It’s not a good out loud word.”
• I’m looking at my home state on the map just to see how my town would vote for Bartlet and the eastern and western parts are for Bartlet but the central part where I live is yellow and I have no idea what that means cause grey is undecided...
“I have three grown daughters, governor. You really wanna tell me how I should raise my family?”
• look I know I’m overthinking this and it isn’t part of the plot, but I just really wanna know how much time Bartlet and Abbey actually spent raising their daughters. A politician, who was congressmen and a governor, and a thoracic surgeon working around the clock? They were busy as hell, so how the fuck did they even have the time? Also their daughters would’ve been raised in the 70s-80s, which is when latchkey kids were a thing and parenting wasn’t as hands on. I could go on but let’s be real here, I’m betting that they didn’t do a lot of the raising and the daughters were left with the housekeeper/babysitters/by themselves/alone (which does not fit into my Bartlet family AU nor with the fanfic I read about them but whatever)
Ok I’m done my weird overanalysis rant now back to the show
• “Do you mind if I talk to you while we walk?”
Lol how meta of Aaron
• Mrs Landingham!!!!!! oh my god everytime she comes back it’s like a gut punch
• “God I though that was a closet.” 😂
• “I’m too stupid to live!!”
• oh I completely forgot Donna pulls the NSA prank!
• “And they’re yours? Both of them?”
• CJ hitting Josh after he says that lmao
Podcast:
• guest star: Ronald Klain
• the “not a good out loud word” Toby doesn’t want to say is “masturbatorium”...
• last appearance of Mrs. Landingham :((
• Hrishi and Josh thought the guy telling Donna she would have to work early and not leave till six or seven was part of the prank, but I didn’t think that at all. I thought that was just a given for any administration. And she and the rest of the staff are later shown staying late at the office, till like 10 or 11...
• Donna to Josh: Oh, we can’t all be you!
Andy to Toby: You know how you’re always saying you wish people were more like you? Well...
• Hrishi thought it was too convienent to have the Christian reporter serve on city council with the nominated A.G. who agrees with racial profiling and then happen to mention it to CJ.
Josh was trying to figure out how the reporter got 365 names on the tiny card. He only counted 120.
I’m both of them.

So it’s my first time at debate camp and I’m freaking terrified any advice would be much appreciated.
Someone: So how was your week?
Me: I am so glad you asked! Well, I thought about it a lot and distinguished wishing I was never born and wishing I was dead. And I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that I’m actually really freaking stupid. Seriously, I can not shut up, I am such an idiot someti—
Me: *sees the LOOK on Someone’s face*
Me: Oh— You meant...my week...at summer camp— Oh. Whoops.

Someone:
Me: Yup, well, I learnt that POIs in BP debate don’t actually need to be a question, so there’s that—
I LOVE MY WIFE CONGRESSWOMAN ANDREA WYATT
Josh: He wasn’t saying “I told you so,” sir. We need an answer on Rooker.
Jed: What’s wrong with “bite me”?
Josh: I think we’d lose.
Toby: Not in New Jersey.
