     Kinkade was careful, hands steady on his weapon as he moved about the street. Clearing out areas of Galra soldiers wasn’t his ideal job, but he wanted to protect Earth and the people he cared about. So, he moved carefully, eyes alert as he walked. A sound could be heard, a rock falling from a high place. Kinkade stiffened and turned his rifle towards the source. A group of Galra. The question was, were they good?

    “ State your alliance. ” he said coolly.

Lance wasn’t even supposed to be out of bed, but whatever medicine the medical staff had given him, it was definitely the good stuff. His parents had left several hours ago, and he had wanted to sleep, but it was difficult. He had tossed and turned, almost ripping the IV out in the process before he had thrown the blanket over the bed’s railing.  Thus, Lance managed to not fall out of the hospital bed as he made the attempt at sneaking out of his room, IV stand the perfect staff to maneuver around the dimly lit corridors.  He wanted to visit the others, but from all the buzz he’d heard, most of them had their own visitors. There’s gotta be some place that isn’t as stuffy as this stupid hospital, he wondered to himself as he rounded a corner, not aware of the fact he was about to collide straight into someone.

                 It'd been months since that day, since his mentality had convulsed violently and brought about the ejection of their only real link to the Empire's information beyond the Blade's plants. They'd kept him in that pod for the sake of possibly being able to gain information and he'd severely messed it all up. What they gained was nothing, what he gained was another fracture in his already crumbling mentality along with a very odd and small measure of guilt. Shiro had never been fond of taking anyone's life but it was odd to him because he felt no remorse when facing Sendak and he felt a very deeply seeded sense of hatred towards him as well. Even so, a life was a life and he was certain he'd extinguished Sendak's when he'd ejected him. Well, that certainty crumbled in a matter of nano seconds that followed his entering the room with Kolivan and Keith. Perhaps that's why they were there, to assure the safety of the large alien that stood there for reasons unknown to him at the moment. It most definitely would've been a better choice to never let Shiro know Sendak was among the living and even more so to not let him know he was in the organization that was aiding them in taking the Empire down.

The bare fact that there were three people in the room aside from himself and Sendak was likely the only thing keeping him from lunging forward in the seconds that ticked by as if the ship had been tossed into another unstable pocket. "Keith.. I want you.. To slowly explain to me.. Why he's here." There was no breaking of eye contact, no turning of his head, no sign of him even budging an inch beyond where he stood. There was no question of how he was alive nor any question of how he came to be here. All he wanted to know was why he was here and for what purpose they could even think of to have him in the same vicinity as him. It was clear he was tense, muscles coiled tightly as a distinct hum reverberated from that prosthetic dangling from his bicep. A sign that he was hardly even listening to Keith at all but still attentive to a certain degree that kept him from simply gnashing his flat teeth on the throat of the alien before him. Yet at the same time he felt that previous guilt of having thought he'd killed Sendak ebbing away. It took him a moment longer to process what he'd been told in an all too short explanation and only a second for him to lose some of that rigid stance. "That's little to no information at all, please give us the room."

An exchange of silence and he could only give an exasperated sigh,"I promise not to attack him. Go. Else there's no chance in hell I'll cooperate with this." There was no way he'd forgo his own word and once left alone with the other he bit back his own words of anger in order to ask the question himself. "Explain. Why are you here and how does your association with the Blade of Marmora justify what you've done to this team." Not himself, no, his team. Concerning himself? He didn't care. "I'm stupidly optimistic but even this is too much without a concise explanation."

         It sent a warm feeling through-out him but he smiled, his ears perking as he felt his eyes burn with tears. “I’m happy... I get to call you father.”

Why not?

I’m sorry, but this blog became a chore for me over the last couple of months. Checking through the tags had become dull and boring, it wasn’t fun any more, it was just something I had to do - I was actually barely paying attention to what I was even reblogging most of the time.

It’s a little bit annoying to see a response like this when I’ve not posted in weeks except to say “I don’t want to do this any more, does anybody else want to take over?” and getting no reply

The blog’s still gonna be here, I’m not deleting, just ceasing with posts.

      Ears were flat as he gazed up at the other, “A-ah...?” He couldn’t argue with this man, there was no way. “Th-thank you.” he muttered, feeling a bit more at ease with himself.
