Did I mention that this is the 30th year where Little India will be holding the Deepavali Light Up in Singapore? As such, this light up will run for 60 days from 22 September till 25 November 2018! Just sharing a snippet of the MANY performances and happenings throughout the Deepavali Light Up opening ceremony organized by @officiallishasg! 1. Welcoming dance by Manimaran Creations as they led the Guest of Honor - our Madam President, Halima Yacob to her seat! 2. Welcome dance / opening dance performances by Bharathaa Arts on stage! 3. The plaque presentation ceremony including a $100k cheque donation to the President's Challenge 2018! 4. And here's why I'm at Little India last weekend - to snap a photo together with my new friend in my favourite shade of yellow. Hello there 🐍! Lol, and no, of course I wasn't just there for the snake la. Instead, I was there as part of the #mitsuekimedia coverage for the Deepavali Light Up Ceremony 2018 for @officiallisha where I ended up having LOADS of fun while waiting for the main event to start! What we did include: 1. Eating popcorn 🍿 2. Checking out the booths that featured Indian Traditional Games by the Little India Heritage Play Street! 3. Viewing the Singarangoli and Rangoli done by the Voluntary Welfare Association in collaboration with Ms Vijaya Mohan (Guinness World Record Holder for the largest rangoli in the world!) 4. Admiring the lovely paintings and art including a beautiful painting of the Annapatchi (celestial swan) which is this year's theme for the Deepavali Light Up! We were all also being entertained by the live singing performances and I'm really happy to get to know a new friend as well!
