Check out this teaser video for our 2025 rendition of SAME but DIFFERENT at the summit of MOUNT BRIDGEPORT during the last hour of daylight on the last day of winter.
SAME but DIFFERENT is an INTERVENTION! Here is some guidance ::
Same But Different is an intervention. We are not asking permission to use this public space, it is a guerrilla action - an improvised celebration of our freedom to gather.
This project occurs OUTDOORS RAIN OR SHINE. Please dress for the weather.
Actions will begin promptly at 6PM and last exactly one hour until 7PM. There will be no prompts or direction, it is a group improvisation.
PLEASE BRING materials to explore and share - but you must take them with you when you leave.
Maintain respect for the public space - do not create additional labor for others.
Never block any thoroughfare - sidewalk or street.
Same But Different is about harmony and community - please keep this in mind and act responsibly. Defibrillator Gallery is not responsible for injury, theft, damage, legal trouble, etc. - participate at your own risk and please use common sense.
There is no power supply at the location.
The closest restroom is McGuane Park Fieldhouse at 2901 S Poplar.
The event will be recorded with photography and video for the DFBRL8R Archive and shared with the international community on social media. You have been notified: your participation indicates your consent.

This post is about images from Rapid Pulse at Rosekill that we don’t have for one reason or another... We want to highlight works by Máiréad Delaney, Clara Diamond, Uchenna Agwuncha, | \|/ | | | | ∆ /|\ ∆ /|\ ∆ Y ∆ ‡ () r r 3 s, and Andrew Barco. We also want to acknowledge the amazing food prepared with love by Mor Pipman, and an After-Dinner Discussion lead by Preach R Sun questioning, ”What is Fire?” on Friday night.
On Saturday…Mairead played with fire, Clara wrestled demons, Uchenna crawled out of the darkness, William serenaded us, and Andrew created a contraption that could change the weather...
The tour is over and the artists are waiting for a Greyhound bus from Detroit home to Chicago. We are all so grateful to Jill and Hoke at Rosekill and Thomas Bell at Spread Art for this monumental and unforgettable artistic adventure.
Below, the artists are at the Greyhound Station in Detroit - on the way home to Chicago! Left to right: Carlos Salazar Lermont, Maryam Taghavi, Andrew Barco, Holly Arsenault, Amanda Staples, William Torres, and Uchenna Agwuncha.
Igor Josifov | CONTINUUM | Defibrillator Gallery.
Closing performance and exhibition | SAT 29 APRIL | 7-10p
Igor Josifov (Macedonia) transformed Defibrillator's garage into a temporary studio for the past nine days. Using fire as a mark-making tool on paper, linen, and glass, Josifov created burned works and added them to an evolving large scale installation in the main space. Join us tonight for a closing performance and final exhibition.
