I know this is kind of weird... But I feel like a fake intellectual. I was always told I was smart, especially when it comes to English, but I feel like I'm faking it. I'm not perfect with grammar. Heck, I can't even tell you what consonants are or recite proper MLA citation from memory. I hate poetry and I don't feel like I quite fit in.
I say I'm a writer, but haven't written in almost five months. Does that make me less of one?
My autoimmune disease has really impacted my learning. Instead of feeling it pouring into my brain, it's like trying to shove it into spaces it won't fit. My attention span is better, yes, but why doesn't it flow like it used to?
I'm scared of being called out. Seen as a hypocrite. A fake. A poser. A liar.
I love rhetoric. I live for the connection between reader and words. I can express myself in writing in ways I find impossible to say verbally. I feel the words crawl over my skin like ink drenched ants and soak up my mind like lemonade wrung paper towels...
I understand language until it is put into structure, into terms, into memorization and quizzes. I am fluent in this form of communication until it is taught...
And then I feel like I know nothing.
I read this as "Definitely not science" and I blame biologizeable
