In honor of Valentine’s Day, here are some Archie ships I really like (somewhat ordered)

The Archies (2023) permanently altered my brain chemistry because I cannot unsee Reggie x Dilton yaoi. I can no longer read their interactions in the comics normally. My eyes have been opened and they will not shut even if I sew them together

I just watched The Archies (2023) and I have seen it getting a lot of hate so here are some things I loved about it:

• Betty is so cutesy in this version. She’s cutesy in every version but this Betty in particularly is literally breath-taking (could not stop staring at her hair)

• On that note- the Beronica of it all. This movie is so yuriful. Beronchie in general was eating, every ship dynamic was compelling (found myself rooting for Barchie more than I normally do) but Betty and Veronica were definitely the stars of the show here. Their friendship was so endearing and I love how considerate they were of each other, even when they were fighting. While I do love their friendly rivalry, I like that in this version they decided Archie wasn’t worth risking their friendship over

• The scene where Reggie dares Jughead to either kiss one of the girls or “give him a beat” and Jughead starts beatboxing

• Ethel storming out of her current job and walking across the street to ask for her old job back

• The food looked so scrumptious

• The songs were all very catchy and I loved the 60s vibes. The choreography was also so fun to watch

• Settings and costumes were literally gorgeous!! I love how they worked the Indian setting into the story, and how it was actually plot relevant rather than something they just didn’t address

• +10 points for being very Reggieful. He kind of carried idk. Comedy King AND an ally??? My bad Mr. Reginald I was not familiar with your game. Shoutout to the implied Veggie ending

• The main plot admittedly kinda dragged but I loved the slice of life feel of many of the scenes. I definitely preferred it when they just had the characters doing normal teen things and I kinda wish the movie was a collection of scenes like that rather than having a linear plot. But that would be kind of bold for a comic adaptation so I get why they had the Green Park storyline

• One part of that plot I did like tho was when the fan blew all the signatures down on that one guy. So fun so cheesy so lovely

• The sheer terror in Jughead’s eyes every time he spoke to a woman

• Archie’s little “I don’t see how anyone can love just one person” speech ohhhh he’s polyamorous as hell

• When Veronica’s parents left her alone on Christmas so she spent the holiday with Betty :,)

• Cheryl’s 0.5 seconds of screen time

• Archie telling both Betty and Veronica that he wrote Va Va Voom for them

• The random politics song in the middle was soooooo fucking fun and camp. Obliterating centrists AND doing it in a fun way??? Reggie eats yet again. Kind of a silly way of delivering such a relevant message but it’s a silly movie so I can cut them some slack for that

• The gay Dilton subplot broke my heart and healed it at the same time. It was so random but also so well done. I like that Reggie genuinely cared for him even if he didn’t love him back (doomed yaoi)

• Hal and his bookstore…poor guy

• Rare example of a dumb character being done in a funny way, Moose ily

• Who told these people about the United Girls Against Jughead (stealing this joke from my sister)

• Veronica and Archie’s date and the little song and dance they did together :”)

• Archie showing up at Betty’s for late night breakfast (even tho their houses are literally connected) and then taking her to the park to make up for missing her bday :”)

• The characters lovingly mimicking “thank youuu” back to Dilton every time he said it

• Dilton’s self-made radio being a surprise tool that will help them later

• The group trip plot line was so fun and whimsical. I love that Ronnie made them matching t-shirts

• Speaking of which, Ronnie having her sweet/bubbly personality was very refreshing after watching a certain other adaptation completely suck that out of her. That is my Veronica Lodge

Anyways. It’s not like a masterpiece or anything but it’s a fun time if you like the comics. Riverdale enthusiasts might wanna skip out on this one tho bcuz the two are very very different (which might be a selling point for some ppl lol)

I have a thing and...

So I see that there aren't many ReggiexDelsin fics so I'm here like "we need it soon, don't we". I'm not good at writing fanfiction at all but when I do, I just never post it. Horrifies me y'know. But I still have this one fic (pretty short tho) that's maybe going to continue. So should I post it?
