My theory on what first drew Sparda to humans, as in what compelled him to not kill and eat them on sight, was that he first heard them sing. A mother's humming to her child, a priestess's hymn, a poet reading their work, etc.
Music moved the heart Sparda didn't know he had.
Give me the Sparda prequel, CAPCOM.
While the idea of Sparda wearing monocle for the aesthetics only is fun, I also vibe with the theories that say Sparda needed to wear to monocle because his sight in that eye was damaged. Maybe by Mundus.
What are some Sparda headcanons you have that aren’t seen much around fanon?
That he studied different fields of work over the years. 2000 years is a long time and he didn't spend all of it demon hunting. He held jobs because he loved humanity and wanted to mingle with them. He was a doctor, an engineer, an opera singer, an orchestra leader, etc.
Sparda DmC (headcanon/what i think he looks like + 70s style..)
Eva DmC (headcanon/what i think she wore during specific historical eras)
Here is a reminder that in DMC canon, enough portals and spontaneous passages exist for any low-level demon (who are still above most humans) to pass through if they truly want to leave the demon world. So no one was stuck over there aside from the uber powerful demons.
Dante escapes hell after dmc2 through these portals for example. Likes of Cid, Modeus, Baul etc leave hell that way too. Yes, the portals were rare but they do exist nonetheless.
Sparda never held a grudge or hated his kind. He left the gates tact for that reason. This is an insane emotional feat for the guy who couldn't even feel humanity or humane emotions before this.
We can accuse Sparda of naivety and overgenerosity. However we can never call him cruel or unfair. He did for the demons more than they deserved.
