So I just watched one of those videos where they get teens to try and recognize stuff from the early 2000s and in the one I watched they had to recognize different Anime intros and I managed to name each one in 5 seconds or less. I surprised myself knowing them all that well.
So my mom is basically the most useless person on the planet, because she literally can never do anything mildly inconvenient to her that needs to be done. For example, she can't go pick up my sister from rehearsal so because she just got home (from a basketball game she chose to go to) and has been driving all day (because she offered to pick up my middle sister from college for said basketball game) and she was working all day, and it was too early for her to drive to the high school on her way home but if she came home than she would only be here for a short time. So I have to go get my youngest sister. But she completely ignores that I also have a full time job I work, with way less flexibility in terms of hours (I have specific hours I work every day that require 2wks notice to change, while she basically sets her own hours) and the fact that I work the early shift tomorrow which means I'll be leaving before or at the same time as her. And I have my own shit I need to get done. OH AND ITS NOT MY FUCKING KID THAT NEEDS A RIDE!!!! And it's not even that I mind helping out when needed w/driving my youngest sister places and stuff, I'm honestly fine doing that, I live at home rent free and I appreciate that, but it's super frustrating that I'm making all the typical parent sacrifices for their children when she's just too lazy to do it. ALSO all I asked her to do when I left was for her to switch my laundry from the washer to the dryer, but low and behold, I get back to find she couldn't even do that.
I've been sitting alone in this Culver's for about 45 minutes and it is so empty. There were 3 people here when I got here, but they all left and it's just been me and like 8 bored employees for the last half hour.
In an exciting turn of events, the 2000 Honda Accord that I drive (the oldest of my parents 3 cars) is the only car that does not need to be taken in to the mechanic for anything right now.
I'm 23 years old, with a job that is literally people leaving their 2 year olds with me all day, and I can't even force myself to go to bed at a reasonable time. Who let me adult?
If my parents don't get home before my bottle of wine is cold, I'm going to end up wine drunk and baking. Because I'm going stir crazy by myself.
Why is it that me the 23 year old millennial telling my mother the Gen X'er that we should go talk to an actual customer service person at Kohls and not just trust the Kohls app about whether or not something is in stock.
Every year my town's 4th of July festival has a Beatles cover band called American English preform and my favourite part of the whole festival is all the parents that bring and subsequently dance with their small children.
