That was all it took for Bakugou to crack. Several veins protruded from the feisty teen’s forehead and neck, his red eyes blazed with hate.
“WHAT?!”
Todoroki pulled Izuku back while the furious blond went haywire. He pulled his arms back and stepped forward, trying to release his quirk. His right eye twitched as his forehead was damp with sweat, among other things, but the sweat wasn’t getting converted into nitroglycerin. Fury getting the best of him, he whirled around, grabbing onto Izuku’s respirator mask,
“You better tell me what the hell happened to my quirk, dumbass!”
Izuku chuckled nervously in the other boy’s grasp, not bothering on struggling,
“They put quirk suppressor anklets on us, not the league, a new organization they merged with. I think,” he pulled his body closer to Bakugou’s, whispering hoarsely as his speaking transcended into mutterings, “Shigaraki found out One for All’s true nature and connected two and two together. I was originally targeted, but they decided to take down the three of us like this to humiliate hero society. I’m not sure Hawks’ role in this other than he’s definitely aiding the villains as a mole, and once he betrays the heroes, Japan will crumble!” Izuku’s voice quivered at the end, voicing the gravity of their situation as a whole only terrified him further.
They won’t only get digested, no, they will be a tool used to aid destruction to their society, civilians, and friends and families. Once people find out that the number 2 hero murdered three U.A. students in one of the most grotesque fashions, their faith in heroes will plummet. Whispers of who is truly a hero will run amok, vigilantes, and crimes will rise, and the villains will use that to their advantage to add their version of a nuclear bomb to the chaos. Shigaraki will get his wish, everything will be destroyed.
“Let go of me!” Bakugou growled, pushing Izuku into the muck, “As if I’m gonna let that cheeky bird do that!”
With that, he lurched himself at the nearest wall, forcing all his might forward to escape the bird-themed hero from the inside,
“LET US OUT OF HERE, YOU SICK FUCK!” Bakugou shouted, banging on the stomach walls.
——-
I should have 10-15 minutes to get them out relatively okay. he checked his phone, praying for a phone call from the commission or a sidekick to get him out of here, yeah, I gotta leave now.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, his phone began to buzz. Thank god. Finally, I can leave.
“Ah, that’s one of my sidekicks, they need me back on Shibuya,” he turned back at Re-Destro, “You guys still need me here?”
Re-Destro stared at him for a good thirty seconds, his smile unwavering,
“I suppose not.” he said simply, pivoting around and waving a hand behind him, “You’re free to leave. I knew we could count on you, Hawks.”
The winged hero saluted and took off. Pushing the collar of his jacket forward and putting back on his headphones, he walked past the entrance of the Liberation Front’s hide-out, trying to act as if he hadn’t eaten three kids. He wondered if they knew of his deed, but from the lack of disgust on their faces, he doubted it. Most likely, only the inner circle of the PLF knew, and it made his stomach churn; of course, the people who would love to have his head the second he betrayed them would be made aware.
He sucked in a breath, no time to sit idly thinking about it, Hawks spread his wings and launched into the air.
————
The students were thrown forward as Hawks took flight, suddenly feeling the lack of being on solid ground, relatively speaking.
Coughing, the air was growing thinner. Izuku could barely keep his head above the growing liquid. Each time his head threatened to bob under the murky liquid, just reminded him how utterly helpless he was.
He had to face cruel reality; if he looked at their chances, death was more than inevitable. Brute force, begging, and pleading, it was all for naught. Thoughts weighed heavily, he was letting All Might’s power go to waste, but what else could he do at this point?
Suddenly, it dawned on him. If Hawks thought them to be dead, there could be a slim chance that he would let them out. It was highly idealistic and not the most probable of plans, but still better than just waiting to be digested like sitting ducks.
Izuku moved, wincing as the juices splashed about, and faced his friends. “I think I have a plan, but—“
“Well, spit it out, why doncha?” Bakugou growled, and Izuku shoots him a look before finishing,
“It’s just that, we have to pretend we’re dead. It’s… not the best idea, but it’s better than nothing.”
“The hell? I’m not gonna sit back and let this bastard digest me alive!”
“Kacchan! What else can we do? At this point, it’s either take a chance or sit back and do nothing.”
“I say let’s do it,” Todoroki chimed in, and Bakugou glared at the other boy before finally giving in.
“Fine, whatever. This better fucking work, Deku.”
The boys sat still, holding breaths until necessary. The giant heart above thumped louder, more erratic, Izuku noted.
I hope this works.
————————
Flying while uncomfortably full wasn’t something he regularly did, he grimaced in mid-air. Ugh, it feels like I gorged myself on 20 skewers of yakitori.
His stomach groaned as if protesting the tiny occupants inside. Hawks frowned, the motion in his stomach had subdued considerably, but he ticked it off as the students merely chattering among themselves.
Nothing to worry about, right?
As he soared through the skies of south Honshu, he tried talking to them. Admittedly, it wasn’t one of his smartest ideas as he probably couldn’t even hear them with his headphones on and through fat and muscle; still, it was a small comfort to just know they were still alive.
“Hey, you guys still with me?”
He was met with the obvious silence, yet what worried him was that his gut was devoid of any movement. Hawks’ blood ran cold, he was able to feel them before, what changed? Oh, just the fact that they have been stewing in your stomach for the past 12 minutes. How much of dumb bird do you have to be to think that it wouldn’t affect them?
“…Kids?” Still bleak silence.
Waiting for a few beats, Hawks still felt nothing. Since they were weren’t outside his person, he wasn’t able to sense their breaths with his wings, and utilizing sonar with his feathers only worked if there was sound, which given the obvious lack of it, he was
He blanched, pressing his fingertips to his belly, trying to feel for any sort of movement. No, no, no. They can’t be dead, I had to have calculated it right, I know I did. This—no, we’re almost to my apartment, they have to be okay. He swallowed thickly, what kind of hero am I if I killed three kids? It wouldn’t even be an accident, fuck, I knew exactly what I was doing, I knew they were inside me with potent acids the entire time.
The next few minutes blurred as Hawks swoops down to the entrance of his apartment, fumbling with his keys before rushing in. Okay, how do I go about getting them out? Trash can? No, it’ll be difficult to find them. Toilet? What if they drown? Ah, a bowl? An eyebrow quirked, that could work. Hawks sprinted to the kitchen and grabbed a large mixing bowl, wasting no time, he rammed two fingers to the back of his throat and promptly expelled everything from his stomach. Hot bile scratched at his throat, and his wings stretched open, he groaned, they always did that when he was sick. Wiping the vomit from his lips, he peered down at the bowl, and his heart plummeted.
Nothing.
They weren’t inside the bowl.
Shit.
