‘ why do your eyes wander when i’m right in front of you ?? ’ // @delicatesouls
a closed starter for @delicatesouls featuring hollis & jo.
hollis had kept in touch with jo in the lead up to spending time with her family over christmas. it didn’t feel right that they ignored one another and then pretended everything was fine when they saw her family. things actually felt a little easier now if you asked her. she didn’t want to run from every conversation and cry, so that was something. she’d headed over fairly early that morning to pick up her ex, though the car ride had been mostly silent as dictated by her nerves. by the time they were stood outside of her family home hollis was completely convinced she might crack at any minute — though she didn’t get the chance to before her mother was throwing open the door and making a fuss. the fuss lasted all of about five minutes before her sister arrived and the attention was transferred to that part of the family, leaving her stood awkwardly in the kitchen with her ex. “well... that wasn’t awful, right?”

“i'll die every time you’re on his side.”
a closed starter for @delicatesouls based on the post found in the source, featuring hollis witton.
there’s a saccharine smile painted on her lips, one hollis typically wouldn’t offer to an ex. in all honestly she’d normally go out of her way to avoid them but she was desperate. besides, it wasn’t as if they were on the worst of terms. they still mingled with some of the same sort of people and that was probably just about the only reason she’d managed to convince them to meet up with her. “so... i need to tell you something and you’re probably not going to like it,” she admitted, eyes dropping to her half-empty coffee cup. she’d been stalling. “you know christmas is coming up, right? it’s just that... i haven’t told my parents we broke up. they’re expecting us to go over like we did last year.”

Today had been far too difficult. Rehearsal had gone terribly and then immediatly after was the troupe holiday party, most of which the teacher spent making comments to Odeya about her performance. So she’d drank more than she probably should and had to get one of the other dancers to book her cab home. The journey back had been going fine. To her surprise, she hadn’t thrown up in the cab. She got up the entrance stairs, into the lift, to the right floor... and then fell at the last hurdle. Three failed attempts at opening her door, she sat with her back against the wood and pressed her eyes shut tightly. The woman immediately broke down crying. | @delicatesouls

she waited for them outside their work place, leaning against the wall with a cup of coffee. she needed it to cure her hangover. it was nearly 5 o’clock in the afternoon and she’d woken up about an hour ago. ava didn’t know when her life had turned into this mess of blurry nights and lazy days. all she knew was that she needed them in her life; her very best friend. it had been months since they’d left her. she’d deserved it -- yet she felt unable to change her ways. perhaps this was her authentic self after all. “there you are!” she greeted her ex as they reached her view and took one last sip of her coffee before throwing it in the trash and marching towards the other. “thanks for agreeing to meet up. PROMISE i won’t take too much of your time,” she gave them a light smile, not taking the risk of sounding too excited. “you wanna go somewhere else to talk?” the female questioned, noticing a few sets of curious eyes wandering towards the pair.
