Tell me how you met and became a fan of Avengers/your favorite character? (:
Oh my GOD an unsolicited ask about my love for the Avengers, LET ME LOVE YOU FOREVER, OKAY.
Well my first real exposure to the Avengers (and the Marvel Universe at large, really) was through the films. I'd read comics before then, but mostly DC--I went through a huge Green Lantern phase a while back, and of course Batman and some Superman.
The first movie I ever saw in the MCU (minus Spider-Man, the one with Tobey Maguire) was Iron Man, and only because I was going to see Thor the next day when it was out in theaters and my boyfriend Matt said it'd be a good idea to see it first. So this was... a little over a year ago.
I was really impressed with Iron Man, I thought it was a lot of fun and I loved Robert Downey Jr. and it was a great introduction into the Marvel U.
And then I saw Thor in theaters, and I just... fell in love with everything about it. The cinematography, the actors, the story, the characters, everything about it was so beautiful and I couldn't stop talking about it. In all honesty, I think the only reason I ended up seeing Thor in the first place was because of the news that Joss Whedon was going to direct The Avengers, and Joss is my writing idol and inspiration, so I knew I had to see it, but I wanted to know what it was all about, too.
And then Captain America came out a few months later and it was absolutely brilliant and stunning, I knew I was hooked. But like... not to the level where I am now, obviously. ^^
So fast forward to May 4 of this year. We go to see The Avengers. It's like a religious experience for me. I proceed to see it an additional 4 more times in theaters. I find out there's a fandom part of tumblr. And here I am.
As for my favorite character, it's most definitely Thor. =D
