First Day of School / Signature - Miriam

Here she is! The first character in this line-up. I won't ramble too much about her right now, one small note I'll add is that her surname is completely made up. It's just so when you say her full name fast it sounds like "Miriam Macaron"

Four more characters will be part of this "Signature Wave 1" before we get into the true story as the school year begins.

First Day of School / Signature - Connie

She's so tall I had to shrink that png of her down so she'd fit the frame sdjjdjsfjgsfd

Ngl, when I was thinking of her character, I did find her a bit... annoying. But writing her diary from her own POV kinda helped me flesh her out. She's not really socially aware. She's extroverted and chatty but doesn't really get social cues until she's directly told she's being invasive or obnoxious :(

Also she thinks of her + the other 2 girls in the group as a trio, which... they aren't really. Just her being idealistic.

DH Wave 2: Picture Day Xander

Finally, the last post of 'Wave 2' is here!

I really hope these diaries aren't getting too same-y, I'm definitely gonna start advancing the story a bit faster going on forward, but we'll see.

As for comments on the outfit, I decided to give him a slightly different hairstyle than his previous 2 designs, since he's the only character to have gotten 3 outfits so far.

His orbital(?) piercing and hair tie are meant to resemble bottle caps. His earrings are soda tabs, his bag is a soda can, and his sleeves are meant to look like bottles. On the more obvious references, his shirt has a 'splash' design, and his socks have a droplet pattern.

His necklace (as his diary says), and the guitar pick dangling from his bag are both gifts from Vivien, who you will be seeing at the very start of next wave, along with Poppy!

But before I start posting Wave 3, I'll make some fixes and updates to many previous posts, as well as make a little surprise that I plan to use as an intermission between waves going forward.

DH Wave 2: Picture Day Camellia

Cami is back! And without glasses. The ones she wears to Book Club are reading glasses rather than prescription like Miriam's or Wyatt's.

While the flower on her Book Club headband was modeled off a 'Tea Flower', I wanted to model this on Jasmines. Unfortunately I'm a dum dum and instead drew a plumeria, whoops.

I'm kinda throwing a heart motif on these Picture Day looks that will be tied into Xander's too. Here, it's in the handmade purse her sister made her, as well as her nails if you look really, really close.

I like this look but it strays away a bit from the tea theme, so I'll definitely be taking that into consideration for the next time we see her! Her diary speaks for itself, but you can see how I'm trying to make all 3 characters in this line play into each other's stories.

DH Wave 2: Picture Day Kaffe

Super long diary entry to compensate for her previous one being really short. Also the bios for this wave's new characters are in this new Yearbook-ish format rather than the old one :0 idk if I'll keep this as a definitive layout for all future characters or if I'll switch it out every wave. We'll have to wait and see.

As for Kaffe herself, her outfit is a bit of a departure from the first one style-wise. Her first one is very 'office worker drinking coffee before work' while this one is more 'cool fashionable girl drinking coffee in the streets of new york during autumn', which, yeah I'll mix and match those two aesthetics a bunch I think. Also she's trying so hard to justify herself and supress that rebellious streak. And by 'rebellious' she means not dressing like a teacher I guess.

Notable design details: The frame of her glasses is vaguely coffee-mug shaped with the handles on the sides, her earrings are meant to look like latte art, and her bag looks like a sideways mug too.

DH Wave 2: Afternoon Stroll Xander

Hey I just think Cathy deserves a friend who is perceptive enough to notice she's struggling, and Xander deserves a friend who is 100% genuine and with him. The time to meet Viv & Poppy is still not here, but it's coming...

Also I used this diary entry to set up a lot of things for the future, just planting some seeds hehehe

Next up is the finale for "Wave 2" of Delish High, which is gonna come with the character bios for the 3 new guys (Kaffe, Camellia & Xander), as well as possibly a little surprise afterwards to show more insight into the character's designs and inspirations

I've resigned myself to the fact that not many people are gonna really care about my OCs, but I don't mind, I'm doing this mainly for me because I think it's fun, and if anyone else finds themselves interested in this story, then I'm really grateful.

DH Wave 2: Afternoon Stroll Cathy

Cathy is another victim of the "falling out with my friends made me lose my bright colors and eye-catching style" thing that started with Marshall. She still dresses a lot more extravagant than the average person, but comparing it to her first outfit it's like a way more toned down variant of it.

I felt so sad writing from her POV tbh. She's clearly the one that relies on her friendgroup the most, and everyone slowly drifting apart is really painful for her. I think everyone except Miriam has mentioned her in their diaries? And I was trying to foreshadow how much work she puts into her friendships and how much everyone values her in return. She's trying so hard to keep spending time with everyone and not lose touch.

Also this was kinda supposed to be a red herring. I her first post I said her diary and bio foreshadow her next appearance (she mentions the art club in both) and Wave 2 was all about extra-curricular activities, so of course she would finally join, right?

Nah. But in her bio and first diary entry she does write about not wanting to be left alone or losing her friend group, right?

I think she's the only core 5 member to still be in positive terms with everyone.
