Hai der! I'm Percy and I'm here to help you turn a picture like this:
into this:
YAY FOR DEMONS!
First off, I'm going to offer some tips, these aren't mandatory, but I feel as if they make the process a lot easier, as well makes the finished product much more awesome.
Try to find a picture that's slightly intimidating or creepy. Â Because, let's face it, would you be afraid of a demon holding a puppy in their arms? Â Yeah, no. Â I chose this one because you can see the slightest mischievous smirk on Nina's face.
The bigger and more HQ a picture is, the better!
Now, onto some demon-izing!
After finding your picture and opening it on photoshop/gimp, you're gonna want to duplicate the picture.
After duplicating it, desaturate the bottom layer. Â
Then, set the top layer (which should still be colored), to overlay. Â It should give you this effect:
Now, usually after this I like to merge the layers, but this is just a preference as I tend to get confused if there are too many layers.
Next, zoom up on the eyes. Â Take the burn tool and start burning the waterline and around the eyes. Â Not only does this add drama to the photo, but it also makes the end product seem more seamless. Â It should look similar to this:
Now, onto them demon eyes (get ready to call le Winchester bros).
Still zoomed up on the eyes, color all of the eye. Â The eyes look lifeless, right? like this:
That's because we colored over the white light reflections. Â So, either paint them back in, or just erase the black that cover them, so it looks like this:
Looks better, right? Â YAY! Â Well, you may notice there is a slight light section between the lashes and black of the eye, or the waterline? Â Well just go back once more with the burn tool and correct any little mistakes such as that!
YAY! Â Your done, now it's up to you if you wanna add some textures and so on c:
