Because you didn't specify which OC, you're getting a novel! (Also, so sorry this is so late, I had to properly formulate my insane thoughts 💔)
Gabe: Sinner, no Contract
The Bull Demon/The Gem Demon
Hated bulls and blonds, hence his appearance
Also had a tendency to get angry over tiny things, also lending to the bull form
Died messing around while cave diving. He slipped off a ledge, falling and breaking his back on a huge chunk of crystal. The initial break didn't kill him, but the inability to move and lack of supplies meant he expired to starvation. The band around his middle and the gems along his spine are representative of this
The gems themselves (amethyst, blue calcite, green aventurine) represent calmness and tranquility in gem circles, and were some of the most common stones he'd be given when some hack would read his chakras or whatever
Lives at the Hazbin Hotel, Charlie convinced him to come because she (miraculously) calmed him down during a tantrum (he was mildly inconvenienced, and when Charlie rectified things, he was doing that one like. Tsundere thing like “hey so you work at that Hazmat Motel right? Not that I care, or whatever…” and Charlie is like “omgosh!! :D we have free rooms and food and a bar!! You should come!!”)
I feel like he and Angel would get along. Something something bonding over having gone out alone, and afraid
Can roll into a spiky gem ball and roll around (similar to Sonic, or the Gorons from Legend of Zelda)
Weapon of Choice: Gem Gauntlets (a tie-in to the Superhero AU), gem horns
Riel: NURSE SHARK NURSE SHARK :D
Redeemed!
Afraid of sharks in life and preyed on those weaker than him (stealing from people)
Only acted the way he did out of desperation, trying to help his sick sister
After she died (going to Heaven), Riel continued stealing to keep himself afloat, but the loss of his sister made him sloppy
Was killed at the hands of someone he was trying to rob, via asphyxiation (they had him pinned with their hands around his throat, and the sheer weight + Riel’s emotional distress and deterioration left him unable to overpower them)
Was found by Charlie pretty quickly after he finally manifested in Hell, and she took him into the hotel and cleaned him up
Was very untrusting at first, but slowly warmed up to most of the staff
It takes a long time, but after many hours of apologizing and helping others and choosing to be better, he's finally redeemed when he allows himself to just. Take a break. He'd been sent to Hell because he couldn't stop chasing what he thought he needed (especially after his sister's death), so he was redeemed when he finally came to terms with the fact that despite being in a bad situation, you can always, ALWAYS choose to do the right thing
Has a dusty red back and pink belly in Hell, but after he's redeemed it switches to the underwater blue/white coloration
Yellow sclera with red eyes
Tips of his fins and his claws are purple, tying him back to his Original CoD demon design, since most other design motifs were dropped. I like to keep SOME consistency with my OC’s designs, especially since they're the same guys dressed up with different hats (aka: AU Labels)
Doesn't like his tail touched >:((
Ari: Baphomet/Imp, design leans closer to Bapho
Technically Amerigo’s cousin, but the age gap makes calling each other that weird
Just kinda travels the Rings, doing whatever and going wherever he pleases, for years at a time
He always returns to Jack and Lyra’s, though
Met Zona when the Hellhound was sticking around the property as extra help
Ari didn't realize that Amerigo had grown very close with Zona, so his sudden return to the farm and Amerigo's ensuing excitement made Zona sort of jealous, to the point he was quietly packing to leave when Ari took up the chores Zona typically did
When Zona was leaving, he and Ari had a short conversation which Zona misconstrued (Ari thanked him for having been there for his family, but somehow worded it so poorly that Zona misunderstood him as being sarcastic, which certainly didn't help the chip on the Hellhound’s shoulder), leading to their current dislike of each other
Works as security at the Hazbin Hotel as a means of having an additional place to stay should Zona start hunting him down (which itself was unlikely to happen), but didn't account for the fact that the young Amerigo would be dead set on following him
Gets along well with Gabe for being adrenaline junkies
Also got along with Riel for his more typical laid-back persona, always casually willing to listen to the shark as he recounted his life story or other tales
Most of his free time is spent at the bar, where he occasionally chats with other patrons or Husk, but is generally found sort of lurking the hallways or the perimeter of the building
Zona: Hellhound, Contract with Vox only
Does whatever dirty work Vox doesn't want to/can't at that exact moment
Basically just gets to terrorize the VoxTek populous when Vox isn't looking
Has a weird mental health situation where he consistently feels inadequate and less than, and it leaves him feeling numb and volatile. Anger is easy to latch onto, so his bad weeks are BAD
It's one of a few reasons Vox hypnotizes him. It keeps Zona in check during his worst days, even if it really isn't healthy
Has a sort of work friendship with Angel Dust, they sort of talk about how work is draining and kind of sucks but isn't really close with him
Wants nothing to do with Valentino, Vox wants to keep him away from Valentino, Valentino wants him in many films. Comedy ensues or whatever
On his good weeks, he's full of energy, running from floor to floor to keep control of the many employees, or running laps to burn off some steam during late nights
Zona's overwhelming energy is another reason he gets hypnotized, if only if it stops the tip tap of his claws on the floors as he runs his laps (and also Vox does sort of care about him, deep down. He's just unsure how to be a kind person in general, even to the other Vee's)
We're back to our regularly scheduled programming of Zona fucking HATING Ari!!
Very much like that one comic run of Scooby Doo where it's like. Space nonsense and Scrappy and Scooby are genetically modified (with Scrappy (Zona) being jealous that Scooby (Ari) gets to have a ‘normal’, happy life)
WOE BROKEN TOE BE UPON YE (from the final S2 battle, obviously got into it with Ari with a broken toe being the worst injury) [Based on my own recent experiences lol]
This toe injury ends up being fucking DEVASTATING on Zona, who constantly needs to be running around and moving (the full quadruped form helps somewhat, but he's still so slow and sluggish)
Valentino brings him back to the Tower in the aftermath, though only after Zona crawls out from the rubble, visibly damaged
Vox and Zona are left cooped up together and it leads to some actual bonding
He starts using the elevator pretty exclusively because stairs are an insurmountable challenge (he went to attempt to use them once, immediately hurt his foot again, and had to be promptly dragged to the elevator)
TERRIBLE about taking his meds by himself, usually it has to be hidden in some food or forced down his gob for him to take it
Amerigo: Imp/Baphomet Hybrid
Pretty young, but old enough to mostly be on his own (he's made up his mind to follow his uncle now that he can do whatever he wants)
If Ari hangs around the Hotel (which he does), Amerigo is sure to follow
Charlie notices that there's just like. A kid wandering her establishment, and very kindly persuades him to work there
Works as the Head Busboy, bringing bags to rooms and waking people up early should they ask
Would 100% convince Lucifer to teach him the fiddle and Alastor the piano (he likes the pretty sounds the instruments make :3)
Was close with Zona while the Hellhound hung around his family's farm, and is unaware of why Zona left his family's farm in the wake of Ari’s return, as well as the (one-sided) feud between Ari and Zona
As a result, he can still appeal to Zona's gentler tendencies, which gives Zona another reason to stay away from the Hotel
