Where My Demons Hide Update

So, clearly I did not make my late May/early June intended posting date. I ran into the slight issue of one beta waited a month to tell me they weren't going to be able to work on it and the other completely ignored my request to ignore grammar and focus on plot and characterization and only did grammar. Sigh.

Luckily, since about June I've been working with the awesome Raine_Wynd and we are now in the home stretch. Two scenes to finish editing and then a final spelling and grammar check. Short of a major catastrophe I will be ready to post to AO3 on October 1st.

Thank you to everyone who read Demons in it's rough draft and I hope you enjoy the final version.

I will be doing NaNoWriMo and Rough Trade again this year but I will not be posting my story anywhere other than Rough Trade due to the fact that it is also being done for Extreme Big Bang and posting for that doesn't begin until July 2015. For those who might be interested I'll have more in separate posts about my planned project and Extreme Big Bang.

It's March 31st. It's the opening day of baseball. Why the bloody hell is there snow falling from the sky? Why????

Now that I've whined about that. It's official. I have completed the first draft of Where My Demons Hide. Yay!! Well, I have to write the epilogue but that's easy and mostly written already. 

I do have one question for you all at the moment. I've always planned on this to be "non-explicit" Mpreg. ie I'm not going all the way through the pregnancy with the story. It was never the point of this story. My question is, would a scene about the first ultra-sound be considered explicit or not?

I'll keep it short because I could do some serious rambling that no one wants to hear about the process that's gone into writing just the first draft of this. Some things do need to be changed mostly because some sections early on don't quite line up with things that happened later and some scenes either need a POV change or just don't work the way I thought they would. Overall though most of what I plan to do is expansion because some things just need to be added to but also because the story that I ended up writing is not the story I originally thought I was going to write. If that makes any sense?

Demons fic Voting Results, Notes, and Schedule Update

Hello, my chickadees!

I apologize for not posting yesterday. Thanks to having no heat Sunday and Monday and just stressing I didn't get near as much written as I wanted, plus I'm not happy with the first scene of this part.

Schedule Update: I am going to try and get some writing done tonight but I really need a stress free night so I'm probably not going to post tomorrow. If I can I'll post Friday but the next part might not be up until Tuesday.

The good news is I am determined to have the first draft of this story completed by the end of next week. If I manage to stick to the mental outline I have there should be around 6-8 more parts. We'll see how that goes.

Voting was almost unanimous for #5 - Mild angst with happy ending and prologue so that's what you'll get. For the first draft anyway. My need for some level of realism may steer me towards #4 in the final draft. I'm also debating doing rough drafts of all 5 options and posting the unused ones as separate alternate endings when I finally post this thing to AO3, though that honestly probably won't happen until like April or May.

Question for my Where My Demons Hide readers?

It's choose your own adventure time... Or at least vote on a possible ending.

At this point I figure I'm about 10-15,000 words away from the end but I can't decide which way I want to go with it. I have 5 different possibilities that I've been toying with and now need some help deciding. Sooo, while I'm not going to give any specifics (at all) here are your choices:

1. Really really heavy angst with hope for the future, with a where are they now five years down the road epilogue

2. Really heavy angst with hope for the future, with a where are they now five years down the road epilogue

3. Heavy angst with semi-happy ending, with a where are they now five years down the road epilogue

4. Angst with semi-happy ending, with a where are they now five years down the road epilogue

5. Mild angst with happy ending, with a where are they now five years down the road epilogue

Okay, I lied. Based on the comments I've gotten I'm going to give a little bit of specifics - None of these options involve Chuck or Raleigh's death. They both live. If this was a major influence on your vote feel free to change it.

Yeah, sorry, there's no way around there being more angst but it's up to you all just how much more angst you want. These all have some level of affect on the outcome of the final battle but I'm not going to say how much.

Choose your angst level.

The next part of Demons will be up tomorrow. I've been trying to stick to an every Tuesday and Thursday posting schedule. Tomorrow's post will be the first of 3 parts of smut. Though I make no guarantee on quality. I tend to be all "this is the hottest thing ever" as I'm writing it then later, upon re-reading, going, "what was I smoking?"
