The "Denebian Slime Devil" was referenced in the famous "Trouble with Tribbles" episode of Star Trek, when Captain Kirk was insultingly referred to as one. I don't know where this awesome illustration originally comes from, but I do know it was later canonized when a tiny image of it appeared on a computer monitor in DS9. I barely ever watched a Star Trek series...isn't it great how much useless information you can learn from wiki's?
