This is my first time soaking denim.
This is my pair of Gap- Straight Fit Japanese Selvedge Denim. I choose a pair from the Gap rather than a pair of APC, Nudie, Baldwin, and other prominent denim brands because of the price and also as an experiment to learn how raw denim fades. These are a great pair of entry level selvedge denim jeans.
The details are follows
Purchased on June 13,2012
May 2013: Washed separately for the first time in standard washing machine inside out with Woolite for dark colors
January 2014: Bath Tub rinsed in warm water with 1 cup of Woolite for dark colors
Over wearing time honey-combing behind the knees is prevalent. I have a definitive spot where my wallet pocket fade is and around the knees where the stress points are. From cuffing the bottoms over sneakers there are crease lines. Its really amazing to see and feel how denim shapes and softens up over time. I highly suggest washing your denim in limited amounts. Over time the jeans did smell and develop stains all from daily wear.
