The client required a safe, reliable, and environmentally compliant solution for handling highly abrasive, fine, and potentially explosive coke oven dust, needing transport over 100 meters to a central silo. Traditional systems risked pipe wear, re-entrainment, and ignition due to the dust's pyrophoric nature, especially with oxygen contact.
We provided a nitrogen-based dense phase pneumatic conveying system to eliminate explosion risks by ensuring a fully inert atmosphere. This system, featuring Macawber's Dome Valve for dust-tight sealing, handles multiple feed points (20) and successfully conveys the dust over 80m horizontally and 20m vertically.
