With its large dimensions, its hipped mansard roof, and its freestone cladding, this house is a Second Empire style very much in vogue at the end of the 19th century in the construction of bourgeois houses and prestigious buildings. It was erected in 1890 by Côme Dufresne when this architectural style was in vogue in Quebec. #BonjourQuebec #Quebec #Deschambault #PortneufInegalable #DeschambaultGrondines (at Deschambault, Quebec) https://www.instagram.com/p/CklR3d_L4_M/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
This wooden dwelling built between 1735 and 1758 for Jean-Baptiste Naud was enlarged and fitted with a stone annex between 1826 and 1850. Over the years, the building served various functions, including housing, from 1804, one of the first three inns of Deschambault, then held by Jacques Delisle. In the 19th century, it also served as a general store (1804-1900), a post office (1832-1879), and a post office (1835-1900). It again experienced a hotel function in the 20th century, when Marie Gauthier held the Winter Stage (1940-1960). #BonjourQuebec #Quebec #Deschambault #PortneufInegalable #DeschambaultGrondines #RelaisdepostedeDeschambault (at Deschambault, Quebec) https://www.instagram.com/p/CklO0IaLT2D/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

This house is representative of the Second Empire style popular at that time in the construction of opulent residences. It is distinguished by the abundance of its ornaments and the presence of several ancillary bodies. It would have been built in 1893 for its first owner, a boat pilot, a common profession in the 19th century in Deschambault. #BonjourQuebec #Quebec #Deschambault #PortneufInegalable (at Deschambault, Quebec) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkjVSO1vxfD/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
