Do you have any notes on Abbie's design? Any details you want to point out, parts of the design process, anything like that?
I actually do!
Here’s Abbie’s design for anyone wondering.
I wanted his design to be simple and monochromatic to represent the fact that Abbie had seen the world in black and white; bad people were bad and good people were good.
The knife in his first design is something he uses for “self defense” (it’s really because he’s constantly paranoid and believes that he needs it for his survival and to keep bad people away).
Also, I made Abbie an apple because apples represent temptation, knowledge, sin, love, and beauty. Abbie is very smart, in his old school he was at the top of his class and he could’ve gotten a scholarship if it wasn’t for the fight. And Abbie’s sin is failures to act (sins of omission), and hatred. The love and beauty part of it is to represent the fact that Abbie is canonically beautiful (people tell him that in the story), and Abbie does eventually find love in the story. The temptation part I won’t get into currently because I would be spoiling the other chapters.
And another thing about his design is the fact that he almost constantly cries; he cries when he’s happy, upset, sad, etc., and it is an instinct for him to do it; he could be completely normal and as soon as someone tries to give him a hug or high five, tears will just roll down his face. He can do it on command, but 80% of the time that’s not the case.
Anyway that’s all! Thank you for listening my little lovelies, and have a great day or night!
