DESTIN — Jon McLeod, who has lived in Northwest Florida for 32 years, has never witnessed a sea turtle laying eggs on the beach until this week. McLeod is the manger at the Tides of Destin condominiums and saw the turtle event in the morning hours on Wednesday at the neighboring property of Sandpiper Cove. He filmed the turtle and after contacting a beach services vendor, a call was placed by the vendor to have a team come out to rope off the nesting site. “There were only a handful of people around to witness this amazing event,” said McLeod. “We are now concerned that, with the approaching storm, the nest may be washed away.” Read more here

The witness says he hasn't seen such an even in his 30 plus years of living in the area. A vendor whose area it was was called to rope off the area so that the turtle and the eggs would be safe. There was mention of a serious concern about further safety of the turtles due to an approaching storm- it's feared that they could be washed away.

Henderson Beach State Park is a beautiful park located in Destin, Florida where tons of people vacation, visit and camp every year. I did some research to learn more about Henderson Beach State Park because i was not very familiar with it at first, as i have never been to Florida. After viewing the website and reading reviews and facts as well as viewing several photographs i can honestly say that i plan on visiting Florida and specifically Henderson State Park very soon. What i saw in photos blew me away so much so that i can only imagine that the true beauty of such an atmosphere could only be appreciated in person. Henderson Beach State Park has the most breathtakingly, beautiful beaches and sunsets i could ever imagine. The ocean water is so crystal clear and the sand was the most gorgeous to me. I absolutely loved the wording used to describe the sand "pristine white sugar" There was a photo of a portuqese man o war on the beach and that especially caught my eye for its sheer unique captivating beauty. Henderson beach state park offers so much more than just beaches , if that wasn't perfect enough. Henderson Beach is a popular camping spot. The reviews for Henderson were so positive and so enthusiastic that they just confirmed for me what i had already imagined to be true from what i found out myself online. There seems to be so much fun things to see, do and explore and i cannot wait to visit. I am very glad that i did my research and found out so much about such a fantastic spot for a vacation. i am excited and i think you would be too. Hope to see you there !! :)
