Hey Rengoku, who's the stronger trainer, you or Fey?
“There isn’t much to base such a judgement on!” he began. “Fey isn’t over-fond of battling, so we’ve never had an intense match! She cleared the Kalos League, so she’s certainly talented! As for me, I believe I could do the same if I set my mind to it!”
Titles had a way of getting to one’s head, and there were many forms of strength. Kyoujurou realised soon after beginning to collect his second set of badges that battling for the sake of battling wasn’t his road in life. There was no way he could set aside his home, father, brother, and duty to family tradition just for that, for one thing! Of course, he could likely have attempted the league and bowed out of the position if he did manage to get that far, but he was quite content without having done so.
And as for Fey, the circumstances around her victory and the necessity that pushed her to acquire that much strength — in a far shorter span of time than he had gained his — were as far from ideal as could be. He almost wished she hadn’t.
At least, not in that way.
Ah, just like that, his thoughts had gone off on a tangent. Don’t worry, though! Kyoujurou’s mind moved at such a speed that it would seem like hardly an extra second or two had passed.
“It’s a bit of a pointless question! If it ever comes down to it, we’ll just have to find out!” he announced with a tone of finality.
