“Humans aren’t boring.” She’s watching him until the gesture brings her eyes to his hands. She brings her own out of her pockets, maybe to prove some point – because where he has nails, she has claws – before smiling to herself.
She can see it almost as well as she can smell it. She sticks out, in this world also.
“But some of them don’t have the best reaction when they find out I’m not one of them. Some don’t mind! But some really do.”
