He was tempted not to believe it. Mr. L didn’t think he could make a machine this advanced and human-like, and if he couldn’t do it, then surely no one else could, either.
But an android like this one was far from the strangest being Mr. L had ever met, and he couldn’t think of any reason why a regular human would lie about being non-organic. Assuming that this guy really was completely mechanical...
“You wouldn’t mind me taking you apart, right? I promise I’ll put you back together when I’m done.”
What an opportunity! There was no reason to make his own robots this small and limited when he could stuff them full of missiles instead, but there was no reason not to learn how to make such convincing androids when one was standing right in front of him, either. Maybe he’d even use the experience to gift his Brobot with a personality the next time he remade him.
He just needed this guy to cooperate first.
