Devil's Workday || Wichita, Rick, Murphy, & Daryl
Wichita was supposed to be picking up dinner for her and Rick, but she had gotten distracted. She ended driving through a neighborhood lined with rows of perfect houses with crisp green lawns and a few even had white fences. The more she thought about all the nice houses, she realized there had to be full of things for her to steal. It had been so long since she had gotten back to her roots and been just a thief. One of these houses would be a great way to see if she still had what it takes or not.
She pulled into a driveway to a house that didn’t already have a car. She climbed out of her car and went to the front door. She knocked on it a few times before peering into the windows. No one seemed to be home. Wichy turned around and looked behind her. No one was on the street. She pulled a lock pick out of pocket and carefully unlocked the door.
Wichy didn’t plan to stay long. She couldn’t, not with Rick waiting on her. There had to be something right out in the open for her to take. It only took seconds for her to find the perfect object to lift from the house. Hanging above the fire place in a glass case was beautiful rosary. Quickly, Wichy went over and took it from the case and carefully put it in her pocket. She closed the case and left the house, locking the door behind her.
She climbed back into her car and then went back to doing what she was supposed to be doing before she got distracted. She glanced down at the clock. Rick was probably wondering where she was, but the rosary that was tucked in her pocket was worth it. It didn’t take too much longer for her to get the food and to be pulling into her own driveway.
“Rick,” she called out when she walked through her front door. “Sorry, I’m late. I got distracted.”
