Ryo Emotions/Characterization Reference Part 1

for ryo im picking the neo devilman flashback first. as a disclaimer, im not telling you its canon. or that its not canon. i firmly believe thats all your own interpretation.

neo devilman flashback Ryo

this is were akira and ryo first meet. we can assume its satan-ryo and not the actual human ryo asuka, as he looks like satan and not the freckled man from the photos. both their memories are tempered with,thus making them both think they were friends even before this. whether akira and human ryo knew each other, or whether this is the first time akira meets ryo at all, is up to you

this ryo doesnt know anything about demons or any approaching horror. he isnt constantly guarded and vibrating with trauma and fear. he is clearly relaxed and friendly in a chill sort of way

he also has a teasing streak. look at that smirk

just taking them as they are, ignoring how they got there, their personalities mingle well

hes more physically fit than people give him credit for. probably due to his feminine appearance, people dont expect him to be strong

hes fascinated with earths natural beauty and takes his bff with him on hiking trips to show him, what a dork. never forget, satan is a nature loving environmentalist.

canon or not, i think this is a good inspiration piece for what ryo is like when he doesnt know of or isnt scared of demons. a chill, slightly sneaky nature loving dude.

who is capable of regret, deep sadness and doing his best to make up for his mistakes. but thats for another part of this :)

Asuka Residence

taking some notes, someone might find it useful so im posting it. 

1. i never payed attention to it, but the asuka residence is not only built on top of a steep hill slash borderline mountain surrounded by forest - its also on a cliff right next to the ocean. the fucks up with that

2. its also built in this blocky modernist architecture style. furnished inside like an old countryhouse. it has some old country-ish elements on its exterior also, but you only notice them when youre in front of it. from afar it looks like..that

3. the residence is so far away from the area where ryo picks him up, its dark by the time they arrive. even if akira and miki had club acivities, and even if it was spring or autumn (theyre not dressed for winter or summer), thats a couple hours drive. why...does professor asuka live in his modernist science castle by the the seaside on top of a hill like a super villain
