One of the things I'm doing now that I have some free time again is catching up on my video game collection. I beat the original Devil Survivor a while ago (its sequel), but I still bought the re-release when it came out for 3DS because I'm a manic fan of just about anything Shin Megami Tensei related and Atlus can pretty much just ask for my wallet when they put out a new game.
Overclocked is a lot easier now that I know how the game works. It doesn't feel nearly as deadly or as hard as before, even though I'm not playing New Game+, which feels very odd. I never realized that knowing how the game operates would influence my ability to successfully complete scenarios so much. The SMT games are not known for being easy.
Overclocked also has VO for almost all the main party dialogue. I'm not a person who really needs to have VOs (my imagination is pretty good, and I read faster than actors can speak), though I'll listen to them if they're there.
Most of the characters are fine, and Keisuke actually sounds kinda hot to me, which I'm surprised by because he's a bookwormish looking guy (not usually a holder of hot voices!), but Midori is terrible.
Not only is she a gratingly annoying character to begin with (you have to save her from killing herself because she's too thick-headed to realize what she's doing is hastening her own death), but her VA manages to make me want to punt Midori even more. She just sounds so aggravating, but since that's her character, maybe her VA is a genius?
