( closed - @lcvergrl ) - "a 'who can paint this giant wooden pole the fastest and the prettiest' competition feels right in your wheelhouse, huh?" corina remarked, standing back to observe the giant pole. the goal was to be the team who painted the entirety of the pole to form a comprehensive picture to the satisfaction of the judges in the least amount of time. it was definitely a niche field day activity. "what's the vision here? i think we should paint giant fishes, but does that feel too on the nose for me?"
( closed - @chrrylpstcks ) danica wiped the sweat off her brow while she spun the ball in her hands in deep concentration. she had planned to win this dodgeball came already, but seeing taeng on the other team? it fueled the fire in her soul and nearly combusted. she was gonna hit taeng with a ball, and she was going to enjoy it.
( closed - @lcvergrl ) - danica huffed and puffed as she jumped in her little sack to get to jai. a sack relay race? ridiculous. jai on her team? even more ridiculous. she could see him in the distance as she held out the stick that they were supposed to transfer. unfortunately for her, the bottom of her sack got caught on a rock and she started to fall forward. "noooooooo--" she exclaimed, feeling like she were falling in slow motion at the climax of a sports movie.
( closed - @chrrylpstcks ) - "ouch!" corina winced from her hair getting snagged by the bow that she was carrying. she turned to face her opponent, the ever cranky maude. "have you ever shot an arrow at a target before? are you good at it? i'm amazing," she boasted, trying to get under maude's skin. she was lying, of course. corina may be good at throwing a line into the water with great accuracy, but a bow and arrow? who the hell does that anymore anyway?
"What do you think of the team shirts I made?" Emery asked, striking a few poses for her neighbor to really admire her craftiness...or attempt. Using glitter glue, she'd traced a sweet pea outline on shirts for everyone on the team, and they were certainly spirited, though her technique left a little (or a lot) to be desired.
welcome to field day, stardew valley residents! as part of the ongoing initiatives to bring the community together, the mayor has organized a field day in the small field west of cindersap forest. find your teammates and show your spirit because the winners will get to plan the next event in the valley.
yayyy, welcome to field day! ooc, this event starts today, wednesday, 7/17 and ends sunday, 7/28. however, it will last only one day in character. the characters have been randomly split into two teams, and the team that does the most event-related replies throughout the event will win the chance to plan the next one.
please tag all event starters and event threads as #dew.event005 so it's a little easier for me to keep track. all opens can be #dew.start so please make sure to check that tag for opens!
on the schedule are games like kickball, dodgeball, tug of war, soccer, relay races, capture the flag, the twilight baseball scene, a sack race, and more. you are welcome to think of any ideas and just do them! there will also be some vendors set up, and of course refreshments provided by the saloon and joja mart!
edit: some non-active activities include card and board game competitions, art inspired by your team competition, and foraging / detecting rare items competition.
