This was really fun to draw. Sometimes it feels good to let go the dense and detailed black and white artworks for something for colorful and light. For a project curated by Simon Bossé/Mille Putois. It reads: "Simon, are you there!? It's your mother. Come one now, let me in... Alright, I've warned you. I'm opening the door!"

I got an invitation earlier this year by Push/Pull to exhibit some of my work at their gallery in Seattle in the month May. There will be new exclusive art and some less recent. My modest tribute to Alvin Buenaventura... I remember him writing to me about his fascination for buddhism aesthetics, so I mixed that with his obvious passion for comics... I'm still really bummed I won't be able to meet him in person now. I guess I will compensate it by rereading all the books he edited in my possesion!
