it was late. quite possibly later than she should have been out, but errands and intriguing conversation. a basket was balanced in the corner of her elbow and an extra bag was in her other hand. she’d learned long ago that walking the streets of this city at night were much different than during the day. yet, an uncommon sound, at least to her ears, broke the quiet of the night. a grunt, the sound of something being hit. something in her gut told her to keep walking, but when was she one to ever listen to her gut? she peaked around a corner, her eyes just barely able to make out silhouettes of two figures who looked to be having a brawl. there was nothing she could do, but wait it out and make sure that everyone made it out alive. one of the figures went stomping off, but the other stayed. at least, she thought so. “ hello? ” she whisper-spoke, as if not to bring the other angry figure back. “ are you alright? --- please, i’m only here to help. ”
