could you do Deyna from Redwall?
Deyna, the Taggerung
I know he wouldn't like it being called "The Taggerung", but parts of your past are parts of you, young otter! Taggerung is like any title--given, and entirely socially determined--but to a strong extent you grew into it boyo and there's no shame in that idea of simply being the mightiest warrior. Other things are also titles--given, and entirely socially determined--like Skipper, like High Rhulain, like any rank or anything like that. I know there's some strong desire in you Redwall critters to believe things like goodness or talent are "in the blood", but just to remind you--you're no mouse, and yet you took on the same role Martin the Warrior did! Martin had no blood descendants. Does that mean none can embody his title of Redwall's Champion? Nope! Blood schmudd. It's a little confused due to the biological determinism going on in most other parts of the books--but the theme is there, that who you are isn't determined by who you descend from... well, that's the idea, not that everybeast in the Abbey understands it! XD
And so here is Deyna--aka "Tagg"--the young river otter stolen away by Juskarath based only on superstition and greed for strength, facilitated by a true Seer's power to spot this little ottercub's potential. The book Taggerung is one I like to playfully summarize as such: "Ferret bandit chieftain kidnaps baby otter and raises him with utmost care, dedication, and support--is surprised when he turns out to be a well-adjusted individual." XD A sneaky case of nurture winning out over nature--and I theorize the direct opposite to Veil.
Deyna/Tagg and Nimbalo from Taggerung ;) I’m binge listening to the Redwall Audiobooks right now
