Rainer Mortensen attends the House of Horror at The Astor dressed as a sexy sheriff
Look, there was a bet involved okay? No one needs to know that Esther only bet him $5, it was a point of pride. Besides, the town already hates him, so what odds?

A dead body was not part of the plan. The plan was to mingle, gather more information, avoid Rainer in view of other human beings. Sarah’d ducked up a staircase to avoid Rainer’s gaze when she’d stumbled over the body. Literally. Ten years of superspeed and you’d think a sense of grace would have developed. But no, Sarah’s foot caught on something at the top of the stairs and the next thing she knew, she was on top of a sticky, red, unmoving body. A scream pierced the air and she pushed herself up and to the wall with an unnatural speed. There was just one witness, it would be easy to run and hide.... Until Rainer ran up the stairs, his eyes moving up from the body to Sarah’s blood covered hands... “Any chance you can continue thinking I’m a hallucination?”

Nursing his lukewarm water, Rainer leaned against the bar, surveying the Halloween party as it raged on around him. The costumes had ranged from impressive to ridiculous, and he’d made a game of counting how many he recognized. So far, he’d spied a unicorn, Freddy Kruger, Harley Quinn, and even that little blonde witch from the Netflix show he’d binged one weekend last month. The rest were practically unrecognizable. The one approaching him now had to have been among the skimpier costumes he’d seen, the top slit past the belly button and black wings spread wide. While he appreciated the balls it took to wear something that daring, much like his own costume, he wasn’t interested and he certainly didn’t have time for whatever was about to happen. He just about choked on his water as the girl stopped in front of him and he realized who it was. Coughing the last of the water he had inhaled out a moment later, Rainer took a deep breath. “Jesus, Tee, nice costume.”

Nathan had no reason to enjoy that time of year. He certainly hadn't been allowed to engage in anything as needlessly childish as celebrating the holiday the way most kids did, and the type of ritual celebrations he knew of Samhain were far less innocent and candy-laced. It was the season where he felt uncomfortable in his own skin, his thoughts knotting themselves up in protest of his distance from the creature shifting restlessly at the back of his mind. A strange, disjointed sensation that always began to stir with the Harvest moon and never calmed until after his upcoming birthday; every year it peeled back a little more of his caged resolved and left him increasingly anxious.
But there he was, weaving through the crowds observing people lost in their amusement, cursing the wayward sense of pack mentality that left him skirting the edges of interaction with others like some misguided instinct. He was uneasy, unsettled and lonely; all the sort of things that plagued him with the autumn. His nerves were thin, normally he stayed on an even keel to a nearly unhealthy degree but the jostle that rattled him caused a mumbled growl to escape his lips in that tension followed by a shake of his head and a muttered sound.
The House of Horror ;; Gemma Rieka as Harley Quinn
“I wanted a fresh start. But it turns out, I wasn’t the only dame in Gotham looking for emancipation.”
You’d be hard pressed to find a character that Gemma loves as much as Harley Quinn--and not just for the costumes. She came from a bad relationship and found a way to be strong after her world crumbled. She may come off as a bit manic and different than how Gemma shows herself in person, but the new version of Harley Quinn in the Birds of Prey movie--being able to be independent and thrive outside of a toxic environment--means more to her than any other character has.
