Winter is Coming: How to Prepare for the Cold
That's right, Milestone Mark wants you to know that Winter is Coming!
The days are getting shorter and the temperatures are dropping. Thankfully, Mark has come up with a list of things you can do to maximize the heating efficiency of your home to stay warm while saving money.
Take some time over the Thanksgiving Day weekend to address some of these home heating problems. Your thermostat and wallet will thank me later.
1. Change your furnace filter - changing your air filter is one of the best, and easiest ways to raise the efficiency of your heating system. The filter is located in the furnace's blower compartment, or possibly a return air grill in your wall. Here is a video that walks you through the process.
2. Schedule Furnace Maintenance - having professional maintenance done to your heating system makes sure that your furnace is safe and running at optimal efficiency. It is best to schedule furnace maintenance in the fall and air conditioner maintenance in the spring, before you start regularly using your HVAC equipment. What you save will far outweigh what you pay.
If you do have maintenance done, make sure it is done by experienced professionals with a good reputation. Milestone Electric, Air, and Security offers a great deal on home maintenance, which covers both heating and cooling tune-ups for the year, plus great discounts on other services, and no dispatch fee ever! It's called the MAM plan and it is only $99 for the whole year.
