Girls Like You – Desi Beats Dhol Tasha is a traditional and typical percussion combination, originating from Western India - where Mumbai is. Here's a version which morphs Western pop with desi drums... guess Maroon 5 would be pleased 🙂

★ Pune band to perform at Salman's Ganesh festival celebrations!
Swasti Chatterjee, TNN | Aug 28, 2012
When it comes to playing for Salman bhai, it should be perfect," says Atul Behre, president of the city-based dhol-tasha group that has been invited by Salman Khan's family to perform at their Ganesh festival celebrations. The group will play at Khan's Bandra home on September 20 and the members are super excited about meeting their favourite star. "We were invited to play at Salman bhai's residence last year as well. However, the actor had to leave for the US for a medical treatment before the festival could begin. Thus, he was not present. Salman's sister Alvira was present and coordinated our visit to the house," adds Satyajit Shinde, coordinator of the group. Of course, the group members were a tad disappointed that Salman couldn't watch their performance, but they have their hopes up this year. Salman's brother-in-law and actor-producer Atul Agnihotri confirms the news. "Yes, the group from Pune is coming to perform at the residence," he says, adding, "They had come last year too but Salman missed their performance."
Out of the 650 members who practice regularly, only 150 have been chosen to play at Salman's residence. They have a special theme for the occasion. "We are working on two of Salman's hit tracks - Dhinka chika from Ready and the Dabangg title track. We hope that he will dance to our music this year," adds Shinde. To keep it a complete surprise, the group is careful about when and where it is practising the compositions. "We have a separate slot at night to practice the tunes to be played at the actor's residence," informs Behre.
The group is all praise for the Khan family's hospitality. "The family takes care of all the performers. Last year, a team of coordinators from their side met us at the outskirts of Mumbai and escorted us to the house. They also came along till a certain point on our way back to Pune," Shinde gushes. While in Mumbai, they were treated to a delectable platter of food and were also provided with rooms in a posh community hall for freshening up, Behre reveals. Moreover, the team was provided with security guards. "People from all over the country come to catch a glimpse of Salman during this time. Since half our team comprises girls, we were provided with special security too," says Shinde.
