Could Diavolo even refuse? He was kept alive for quite some time now after being taken out of that death-loop. Giorno refused to let his body rot in full, constantly replenishing his blood and anything that dared flake off his skin. Parts of his eyes were already replaced by transformed paperclips and regular haphazard corneal clouding reversals had to be done every few days. His brain was kept unmarred by force of will alone, but the rest of his body was prone to… damages. 

Giorno kept him around as a bloodbag, to put it bluntly. When the sun hurt too much to stand and the growling in his stomach couldn’t be sated by regular means, he had to turn to blood for the sake of his sanity. He had choices, and Diavolo was the one that caused him the least amount of mental distress. He couldn’t bring himself to use Mista, especially as his needs ramped up more and more. Fugo would let him, maybe, but it was still too much on his psyche. Trish had been tormented enough, so that left him with a nasty final option. 

Diavolo swallowed, crouched in the corner of his surprisingly decent villa room. If he turned his tongue back in on itself, he could feel the seam where he had bit it off one time to avoid this further torture. He always considered it again when he heard Giovanna’s heels click on the outside of his lavish prison, but knew it was no use. He’d always replace it once he was done lapping the blood off the floor and out of his gaping mouth.

Credo che questa storia del dover trovare la forza dentro se stessi sia tanto vera quanto irrealistica allo stesso tempo. È un discorso troppo generico fatto in questo modo, che non può reggere su ogni situazione. Ci sono momenti, come quello che sto vivendo, in cui tu vorresti tantissimo trovarla la forza, vorresti rialzarti, vorresti essere una persona nuova, stare meglio, provarci almeno. Il fatto che tu lo voglia non significa che matematicamente tu ci possa riuscire da solo usando esclusivamente la "forza di volontà". Bella l'indipendenza, l'idea di autonomia, di autosufficienza ma sono tutti concetti che riescono a funzionare correttamente in una vita sana; in una vita fatta in briciole non fanno totalmente presa e ti senti pure stupido perché sai cosa è giusto fare ma non riesci comunque a farlo. Quindi niente, solo per dire che anche il contare su se stessi è una modalità di funzionamento che si impara e si impara chiedendo il giusto aiuto quando serve.

HAPPY REQIUEM DAY AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY APRIL 6TH!!!!

I shared some headcanons over on Bluesky but you guys get to hear them too, so here goes!

In my heart, Giorno and Diavolo are still in Florida. Diavolo has made a lot of progress in 4 years and he sometimes even goes to the grocery store with Giorno (though he hates it.) They've both finally accepted Emporio's invitations to meet Irene and the others, and Giorno has been pulled in to the extended Kujo family happily. I think at some point he also tracked down Rykiel, Ungalo and Donatello to introduce himself (and he still sends nice Christmas cards to them every year.)

Diavolo has gone to a few of Irene's gatherings and while the noise and the chaos is A Lot, he's getting used to it.

He's gotten better at cooking! He can make dinner now and does so a couple nights a week (he and Giorno take turns.)

They're figuring it out day by day. Diavolo still has bad days. So does Giorno. But they're doing their best. They're together, so they never have to handle it alone.
